Edgecomb, also known as Parklane, is a neighborhood in the North District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Cylburn (north) and Greenspring (south). Its boundaries are marked by Dupont Avenue (north), Coldspring Lane (south), Pimlico Road (west) and Greenspring Avenue (east). Central Park Heights, is located on the opposite side of Pimlico Road in the Northwest District. The neighborhood of Coldspring is located to Edgecomb's east, across Greenspring Avenue. Park Heights is an area of Baltimore City, Maryland, that lies approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Baltimore and within two miles of the Baltimore County line. A 1,500-acre community, Park Heights comprises 12 smaller neighborhoods that together contain approximately 30,000 residents. LocalLink 28 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently runs from the Rogers Avenue Metro Subway Station in Northwest Baltimore to a loop in Moravia in Northeast Baltimore. Service is provided about once every 10–15 minutes during rush hour, every 20 minutes midday, every 30 minutes on Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays. The line operates primarily along the cross-town corridor of Coldspring Lane and Moravia Road, transversing Arlington, Park Heights, Roland Park, Homeland, and Montebello. The line passes several universities, including Loyola College, Notre Dame, and Morgan State University. Mondawmin station is a Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is located under the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Liberty Heights Avenue in the Mondawmin neighborhood, adjacent to the Mondawmin Mall. It is the northernmost underground station on the line, and a major transfer point to many bus routes. Mondawmin station serves Mondawmin Mall, Coppin State University, Druid Hill Park, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and the Lower Park Heights neighborhood. Downtown Baltimore is the central business district of the city of Baltimore traditionally bounded by Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to the west, Franklin Street to the north, President Street to the east and the Inner Harbor area to the south. Fort McHenry
Fort McHenry is a historical American coastal pentagonal bastion fort on Locust Point, now a neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. It is best known for its role in the War of 1812, when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy from the Chesapeake Bay on September 13–14, 1814. It was first built in 1798 and was used continuously by the U.S. armed forces through World War I and by the Coast Guard in World War II. It was designated a national park in 1925, and in 1939 was redesignated a " National Monument and Historic Shrine". During the War of 1812 an American storm flag, , was flown over Fort McHenry during the bombardment. Sinai Hospital is an American private hospital based in Baltimore, Maryland, that was founded in 1866 as the Hebrew Hospital and Asylum. It is now a Jewish-sponsored teaching hospital that provides care for patients in the greater Baltimore City, Baltimore County and surrounding communities. CityLink Navy is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. It replaced Route 1 in 2017. The bus route is the successor to the 1 Gilmor Street, 2 Carey Street, and 2 Fort Avenue streetcar lines. History The Citizens' Passenger Railway obtained a franchise from the city on June 25, 1868 to build a line from Druid Hill Park to Patterson Park, using Fayette Street west of downtown and roughly including what became the No. 1 and 2 streetcar lines. The People's Passenger Railway built the Druid Hill Avenue Line and a line to Fort McHenry via Fort Avenue; the two companies merged with several others in 1888 to form the Baltimore Traction Company.
