Parkdale is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located within Manistee Township, Manistee County, Michigan, United States. Its population was 704 as of the 2010 census. The community is in the southwest corner of the township, on the northern edge of Manistee Lake where the Manistee River enters the lake. It is on US 31 near the junction with M-55 on the northern boundary of the Manistee city limits. M-110 (Michigan Highway)
M-110 was the designation of a former state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan. The highway was a spur that provided access from US Highway 31 (US 31) to Orchard Beach State Park. The highway was designated in 1927 and lasted until 2003. Route description The southern terminus of M-110 was at a junction with US 31 near Parkdale on the northern boundary of the city of Manistee. From there, the trunkline traveled north along Lake Shore Road near Lake Michigan. Along the way, the highway passed through the unincorporated community of Parkdale. The landscape contains fields as the roadway approaches the forest at Orchard Beach State Park. M-110 continues past the park and terminated at an intersection with Kott Road. M-55 (Michigan Highway)
M-55 is a state trunkline highway in the northern part of the US state of Michigan. M-55 is one of only three state highways that extend across the Lower Peninsula from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan; the others are M-46 and M-72. The highway crosses through rural forest and farmlands to connect Manistee with Tawas City. M-55 crosses two of the major rivers in the state. Two sections of the highway follow along freeways near Cadillac and West Branch. Running for through the state, M-55 is maintained by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The highway was first designated by July 1, 1919 along a portion of the current roadway. In a series of extensions, M-55 was lengthened to connect its current endpoints by the early 1930s.
