Paris Métro Line 12 (opened as Line A; French language, French: ''Ligne 12 du métro de Paris'') is one of the sixteen lines of the Paris Métro. It links Issy-les-Moulineaux, a suburban town southwest of Paris, to Aubervilliers, in the north. With around 54 million passengers per year, Line 12 was the twelfth busiest line of the network in 2021. It has several major stops, such as Madeleine (Paris Métro), Madeleine, Concorde (Paris Métro), Concorde, Porte de Versailles (Paris Métro), Porte de Versailles and two national railway stations, Gare Montparnasse and Gare Saint-Lazare. The service runs every day of the week, and the line uses MF 67 series trains, the network's standard since the early 1970s. Porte de la Chapelle () is a station on line 12 of the Paris Métro in the districts of La Chapelle and Goutte d'Or and the 18th arrondissement. The station opened on 23 August 1916 as part of the extension of the Nord-Sud company's line A from Jules Joffrin. On 27 March 1931 line A became line 12 of the ''Métro''. Porte de la Chapelle was the terminus of line 12 until 18 December 2012, when an extension opened to Front Populaire. The station is named after the ''Porte de la Chapelle'', a gate in the nineteenth century Thiers wall of Paris, on the ''Rue de la Chapelle'', the old Roman road to Calais via Saint-Denis, now Route nationale 1. Mairie d'Issy () is the southern terminus of line 12 of the Paris Métro in the commune of Issy-les-Moulineaux. It is named after and located near the town hall. The Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris S.A. (Paris Metropolitan Railway Company Ltd.), or CMP, was a subsidiary of the Empain group that is the forerunner of the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens, RATP, the company managing the Paris Métro. Line 4 () is one of the sixteen lines of the Paris Métro rapid transit system and one of its three fully automated lines. Notre-Dame-de-Lorette () is a station on Line 12 of the Paris Métro in the 9th arrondissement. The station opened on 5 November 1910 as part of the original section of the Nord-Sud company's line A between Porte de Versailles and ''Notre-Dame-de-Lorette''. It was the northern terminus of the line until its extension to Pigalle on 8 April 1911. On 27 March 1931 line A became line 12 of the ''Métro''. The station is named after the nearby church Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. Porte de Versailles () is a station on line 12 of the Paris Métro, a stop on tramway T3a as well as the southern terminus of tramway T2 in the 15th arrondissement. It is named after the ''Porte de Versailles'', a gate in the 19th century Thiers wall of Paris, which led to the city of Versailles. History The station opened on 5 November 1910 as part of the original section of the Nord-Sud Company's line A between Porte de Versailles and Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. On 23 April 1930, a collision between two trains near the station resulted in the deaths of two people and 37 injured.
