Johnny Paredes
Johnny Alfonso Paredes Isambert (2 September 1962 – 5 November 2020) was a Venezuelan second baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) who played for the Montreal Expos (1988; 1990) and Detroit Tigers (1990–1991). He also played in Japan in 1992 for the Yakult Swallows. Listed at 5' 11", 165 lb., he batted and threw right-handed. He also played with Aguilas del Zulia of the LVBP between 1982 and 1993. In a three-year career in the Majors, Paredes was a .211 hitter with one home run and 11 RBI in 60 games. Paredes died on November 5, 2020, at the age of 58 of a cancer related illness. Rubén Darío Paredes
Rubén Darío Paredes del Río (born 11 August 1933) is a Panamanian army officer who was the military ruler of Panama from 1982 to 1983. Colonel Paredes came to power after the displacement of Colonel Florencio Flores, due to the instability of Panamanian National Guard after the death of Omar Torrijos. He was educated at the military academy in Nicaragua. Paredes' tenure as National Guard commander was from March 1982 to August 1983. Paredes was promoted to the rank of general on March 3. In August 1983, Paredes resigned over a dispute concerning the government's attitude towards the United States involvement in Nicaragua. He retired from the Panamanian National Guard after making a deal with Manuel Noriega that would make Paredes president. However, after his resignation, Noriega reneged on the deal and had him arrested. He ran unsuccessfully as president in the 1984 election as a candidate. Pablo Paredes Arratia (born 11 February 1983) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Amurrio Club mainly as a central midfielder. Club career Born in Laudio, Álava, Basque Country, Paredes joined Athletic Bilbao's youth setup in 1999, aged 16. He made his debut with the farm team in the 2001–02 campaign, in Tercera División. In June 2003 Paredes was promoted to the reserves, in Segunda División B. Mariano Paredes Limón (b. Veracruz, Veracruz 1912 – d. Mexico City 1980) was a Mexican artist, best known for his engraving work. Career In 1921 he moved to Mexico City, and from 1922 to 1923 studied at the Academy of San Carlos under teachers such as José Clemente Orozco, Fernando Leal, Sóstenes Orteaga and Raziel Cabildo. Paredes Limón illustrated numerous books and worked on various pamphlets, magazines and other publications for the cultural movements that emerged in Mexico in the 1930s and 1940s. He was in charge of the section on fine arts in the magazine Frente a Frente. He was a member of the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios, with which he experimented with different engraving techniques. Mariano Paredes (1800—1856) was President of Guatemala from January 1, 1849 to November 6, 1851 as a compromise chief of state. Paredes, an army colonel, came to power after Rafael Carrera was ineffective in quelling uprisings in eastern Guatemala and short-term governments failed to restore order. Mariano Paredes y Arrillaga (c. 7 January 1797 – 7 September 1849) was a Mexican conservative general who served as president of Mexico between December 1845 and July 1846. He assumed office through a coup against the liberal administration led by José Joaquín de Herrera. During the Centralist Republic of Mexico he led three successful coups against the Mexican government. In 1842, he led a movement to overthrow the presidency of Anastasio Bustamante over a financial crisis, which led to the drafting of a new constitution known as the Bases Orgánicas, promulgated on 14 June 1843.
