Parc-de-la-Montagne-Saint-Raymond District
Parc-de-la-Montagne-Saint-Raymond District (District 8) is a municipal district in the city of Gatineau, Quebec. Its seat on Gatineau City Council is now occupied by Marc Bureau, former mayor of Gatineau, who won a by-election, following the death of Louise Boudrias. The district is located in the Hull sector of the city, and contains the neighbourhoods of Lac-des-Fées, most of Parc-de-la-Montagne and the northern half of Wrightville. The district was created for the 2013 election, when Wright–Parc-de-la-Montagne District and Saint-Raymond–Vanier District merged. Gatineau
Gatineau ( ; ) is a city in western Quebec, Canada. It is located on the northern bank of the Ottawa River, immediately across from Ottawa, Ontario. Gatineau is the largest city in the Outaouais administrative region and is part of Canada's National Capital Region. The Gatineau City Council (french: Conseil municipal de Gatineau) is the governing body for the mayor–council government in the city of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. It is composed of 20 city councillors and the mayor. The mayor is elected at large, while each of the councillors represent districts throughout the city. Marc Bureau (politician)
Marc Bureau (born August 11, 1955) is a Canadian politician, who was the mayor of the city of Gatineau, Quebec from 2005 to 2013. Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, he was elected mayor of Gatineau on November 6, 2005, by beating incumbent Yves Ducharme with 68% of the vote. His landslide victory came as a surprise because he had trailed in the polls at the start of the campaign, although he progressed until being given winner by a small margin two weeks before the election (52% vs 48%). More than a week before the election, polls gave him a 14 points advance (57% vs 43%). His victory is attributed by most people including both candidates to the citizen's desire for a change after 13 years of reign from Ducharme, and also Bureau's promises of a more transparent city council. Hull is the central business district and oldest neighbourhood of the city of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. It is located on the west bank of the Gatineau River and the north shore of the Ottawa River, directly opposite Ottawa. Wrightville
Wrightville was a mining village in the Orana region of New South Wales, Australia. Once it was a significant settlement, with its own municipal government, public school, convent school, post office, police station, four hotels, and railway connection. At its peak, around 1907, its population probably reached 2,000 people. Its site and that of the adjacent former village of Dapville are now an uninhabited part of Cobar. Location Wrightville was located on the road to Hillston, about four kilometers south-east of Cobar. This road is now known as Kidman Way. 2021 Gatineau Municipal Election
A municipal election was held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada on November 7, 2021, in conjunction with the 2021 Quebec municipal elections held on the same day. Elections will be held for Mayor of Gatineau as well as for each of the 19 districts on Gatineau City Council. Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin announced he would not be running for re-election.
