Paraty (record Label)
Paraty is a record label founded in 2007 by Brazilian harpsichordist Bruno Procopio. Although originally created to allow Procopio to complete his survey of Johann Sebastian Bach's keyboard Partitas, BWV 825-830, the scope of the label has recently been expanded. The label is now actively supporting two other young instrumentalists based in France, pianists Nicolas Stavy and Ivan Ilić. Record Label
A record label, or record company, is a brand or trademark of music recordings and music videos, or the company that owns it. Sometimes, a record label is also a publishing company that manages such brands and trademarks, coordinates the production, manufacture, distribution, marketing, promotion, and enforcement of copyright for sound recordings and music videos, while also conducting talent scouting and development of new artists, and maintaining contracts with recording artists and their managers. Harpsichordist
A harpsichordist is a person who plays the harpsichord. Harpsichordists may play as soloists, as accompanists, as chamber musicians, or as members of an orchestra, or some combination of these roles. Solo harpsichordists may play unaccompanied sonatas for harpsichord or concertos accompanied by orchestra. Accompanist harpsichordists might accompany singers or instrumentalists (e.g., a violinist or Baroque flute player), either playing works written for a voice (or an instrument) and harpsichord or an orchestral reduction of the orchestra parts. Chamber musician harpsichordists could play in small groups of instrumentalists, such as a quartet or quintet. Baroque-style orchestras and opera pit orchestras typically have a harpsichordist to play the chords in the basso continuo part. Bruno Procopio
Bruno Procopio (born 1976, Brazil) is a Brazilian harpsichord player based in Paris. History Following early musical studies with Marcelo Fagerlande and Pedro Personne in Rio de Janeiro, Procopio moved to France in 1993. He studied harpsichord at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Christophe Rousset and chamber music with Blandine Ranou and Kenneth Weiss, earning two First Prizes (Premier Prix) in harpsichord performance and continuo playing. After his formal studies, Procopio became one of the few students of Pierre Hantaï. Procopio's first recording, of JS Bach's Partitas for keyboard numbers 1, 3, and 4, was chosen as one of the five best Baroque music disks of the year by Fanfare magazine in 2004, in addition to a rating of five out of five by the distinguished French magazine Diapason. Johann Sebastian Bach

Partitas, BWV 825-830
The Partitas, BWV 825–830, are a set of six keyboard suites written by Johann Sebastian Bach, published individually beginning in 1726, then together as ''Clavier-Übung I'' in 1731, the first of his works to be published under his own direction. They were, however, among the last of his keyboard suites to be composed, the others being the six English Suites, BWV 806-811 and the six French Suites, BWV 812-817, as well as the Overture in the French style, BWV 831. History The six partitas for keyboard form the last set of suites that Bach composed, and are the most technically demanding of the three. They were composed between 1725 and 1730 or 1731. Ivan Ilić (pianist)
Ivan Ilić ( sr-Cyrl, Иван Илић; born August 14, 1978) is a Serbian- American pianist. He lives in Paris. Early life Ilić was born in Palo Alto, in the United States. He attended the University of California, Berkeley in the U.S. where he took degrees in mathematics and music. Ilić also briefly studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music before pursuing graduate studies at the Conservatoire de Paris, earning a ''Premier Prix'', and finally at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. His teachers in France included François-René Duchâble, Christian Ivaldi, and Jacques Rouvier. Career Ilić performs primarily as a soloist. His recording of Debussy's 24 '' Préludes'' was released in October 2008 on the French record label Paraty and won Mezzo TV's Critics' Choice Award in France. Frédéric Chopin
Frédéric François Chopin (born Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin; 1 March 181017 October 1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic period, who wrote primarily for solo piano. Claude Debussy
(Achille) Claude Debussy (; 22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term. He was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born to a family of modest means and little cultural involvement, Debussy showed enough musical talent to be admitted at the age of ten to France's leading music college, the Conservatoire de Paris. He originally studied the piano, but found his vocation in innovative composition, despite the disapproval of the Conservatoire's conservative professors.
