Para Ice Hockey At The 2022 Winter Paralympics
The Para ice hockey competition of the 2022 Winter Paralympics was held at the Beijing National Indoor Stadium, China, from 5 to 13 March 2022. A total of seven teams competed in the mixed team tournament. Yu Jing from China has become the third female Para ice hockey player at the Paralympic Games, preceded by Britt Mjaasund Øyen and Lena Schrøder from Norway who previously competed in para ice hockey at the Winter Paralympics. Billy Bridges (born 22 March 1984) is a Canadian ice sledge hockey and wheelchair basketball player. Born in Summerside, he has spina bifida. On July 1, 2011, Bridges married former Olympic women's ice hockey player Sami Jo Small. He competed at the 2022 Winter Paralympics, in Para ice hockey winning a silver medal. Rico Roman (born February 4, 1981) is an American gold medal ice sled hockey player and Purple Heart recipient from Portland, Oregon who competed in 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia. Early life Roman, who is of Mexican American descent, graduated from Alpha High School in 2000 and joined United States Army soon after.
