Papusza (film)
''Papusza'' is 2013 Polish feature film directed by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, starring Jowita Budnik as lead actress. The plot revolves around the biography of Romani poetess Bronisława Wajs, better known as Papusza ( rom. Lalka) within the Romani community. The film is black and white, with dialogue mainly in Romani. Julian Tuwim
Julian Tuwim (13 September 1894 – 27 December 1953), known also under the pseudonym "Oldlen" as a lyricist, was a Polish poet, born in Łódź, then part of the Russian Partition. He was educated in Łódź and in Warsaw where he studied law and philosophy at Warsaw University. After Poland's return to independence in 1918, Tuwim co-founded the Skamander group of experimental poets with Antoni Słonimski and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz. He was a major figure in Polish literature, admired also for his contribution to children's literature. Filmweb is an online database of information related to films, television series, actors and film crew personnel. Since 2011, the database also contains video games. Filmweb was launched on March 18, 1998. It is a Polish-language site, and the largest Polish film database. History Filmweb was created by Artur Gortych, and launched on March 18, 1998. On January 20, 2000, it became the first Polish website available through Wireless Application Protocol. In 2005, Filmweb PRO (aimed at entertainment professionals) was launched. On May 20, 2010, the beta version of the website was launched, and Filmweb also started to use a new algorithm, called Gustomierz (''Tastemeter''). Registered users, that have rated at least 50 movies, are able to see how much particular movie is supposed to be liked by them and to find taste similar users. The Manaki brothers ( rup, Frats Manachia), Yanaki and Milton ( and ), were Greek photography and cinema pioneers of the Balkan Peninsula and the Ottoman Empire. They were the first to bring a film camera and create a motion picture in the city of Manastir (modern-day Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia), an economic and cultural center of Ottoman Rumelia. Their first film, ''The Weavers'', was a 60-second documentary of their grandmother spinning and weaving; this is regarded as the first motion picture shot in the Balkans.
