Paperny Entertainment Inc. (previously known as Paperny Films) was a Vancouver-based producer of television programming and films, ranging from character-driven documentaries to provocative comedy to quirky reality shows. It was founded by David Paperny, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his 1993 documentary '' The Broadcast Tapes of Dr. Peter''. In July 2014, Paperny Entertainment was acquired by Entertainment One, which in turn has been acquired by American toy manufacturer Hasbro on December 30, 2019. ''My Fabulous Gay Wedding'' is a Canadian reality show hosted by comedian Scott Thompson in the first season and Elvira Kurt in the second. The series airs on the Global Television Network. It is broadcast in the U.S. as ''First Comes Love'', on Logo. In the first season, the show features a same-sex couple that plans to marry; the arrangements for the wedding are prepared, on two weeks' notice, by a team of wedding planners who are both heterosexual and homosexual. The series followed four or five placer mining crews as they searched for gold over the four-month Yukon mining season.
