Paon
is a Japanese video game developer. The company was founded in August 2004 as DP Inc. and merged with Paon Corporation, Ltd. in March 2015 to form Paon DP. Paon Corporation was founded on January 20, 1999. Through a partnership with Nintendo, Paon developed '' DK: King of Swing'', ''Donkey Kong Barrel Blast'' and '' DK: Jungle Climber''. Paon was also involved in development of 2000 SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color fighting game titles, ''SNK Gals' Fighters'' as composer and sound work team, as well as composer to some other Neo Geo Pocket Color titles. When the company Data East went bankrupt, Paon became composed of former Data East staff and bought the rights to some of their games, including ''Karnov'', '' Chelnov'', ''Windjammers'', and the '' Kuuga'' trilogy, all of which are now owned by Paon DP, and the ''Glory of Heracles'' series, which is partially owned by them. Nightmare In The Dark
is a platform arcade video game developed by AM Factory, with the assistance of Paon, and released by Eleven/Gavaking on January 27, 2000. The game never received an official release for either the Neo Geo AES (home) or Neo Geo CD platforms. It concerns the story of gravediggers discovering a few graves being desecrated and their attempt to prevent the graverobbers from inflicting further damage. Gameplay A good ghoul goes around graveyards protecting them from evil doers. The player clears the area and collects power-ups using them to eliminate the enemies. There are five stages with five levels each, and each one of them has you throwing fireballs at ghouls, ghosts, goblins, and zombies. When you keep throwing fireballs at these enemies, they will ignite into a giant fireball, which you can throw at other enemies to kill them, and get the remaining treasure before moving on to the next level. ''SNK Gals' Fighters'' is a 2-dimensional 1-on-1 versus fighting game which appeared on the Neo Geo Pocket Color in 2000. The game was ported to the Nintendo Switch in the eShop on April 29, 2020, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Neo Geo system. Gameplay ''Gals' Fighters'' features female characters from various SNK franchises, where the characters compete in the aptly named Queen of Fighters tournament, organized by a mysterious "Miss X", with whoever being able to defeat "Miss X" (in reality, Iori Yagami dressed as a woman) being given the K' Talisman, which grants any wish. Gameplay The player controls Chelnov's movements with the eight-way joystick, and the three buttons to attack, jump, or turn around. Six types of weapons can be obtained during the game: laser, fire rings, boomerangs, spike bola balls, spike ball whip, missiles. By collecting power-ups you can improve Chelnov's attack power, rapid-firing capability, attack range or jumping height. ''Windjammers'' is a sports arcade game released by Data East on the Neo Geo arcade system in 1994. The game mechanics are essentially the same as ''Pong'' or air hockey, where players continuously shoot the disc at the goal zone of the opponent attempting to score.
