Paolo Canevari
Paolo Canevari (born Rome, 1963) is an Italian contemporary artist. He lives and works in New York City. Canevari presents highly recognizable, commonplace symbols in order to comment on such concept as religion, the urban myths of happiness or the major principles behind creation and destruction. Career Between 1989 and 1990 he lived in New York where he has his first solo show ''Rocce''. In the 1990s he exhibited in numerous group shows in Los Angeles at the art gallery of Otis Parsons College of Art and Design, in Paris, in Kiev at the Soros Center for Contemporary Art, Vienna at the Vienna Secession, Frankfurt, in Dublin at the IMMA Irish Museum of Modern Art, Geneva, Taiwan, Liege as well as in Bologna, Rome, Milan, Prato, Naples, Spoleto, Venice. Robert Storr (art Academic)
Robert Storr (born 1949) is an American curator, critic, painter, and writer. Education Robert Storr received his B.A. in History and French from Swarthmore College in 1972, and earned an M.F.A. in Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1978. Career From 1990 to 2002 Storr was curator, then senior curator, in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art. As a curator, Storr made his mark early with a number of major exhibitions at the museum and elsewhere, which enhanced the public prominence of such artists as Elizabeth Murray, Gerhard Richter, Max Beckmann, Tony Smith and Robert Ryman. He also organized a number of reinstallations of MoMA's permanent collection, covering such topics as abstraction and the modern grotesque. The museum is housed in two separate places: a former brewery in Via Nizza, in the Salario quartiere of the city; and a former slaughterhouse in Piazza Orazio Giustiniani, in the quartiere of Testaccio. Danilo Eccher (Tione, Italy, June 27, 1953) is an Italian art critic and curator. Biography Eccher is the former director of Galleria Civica d'Arte Contemporanea di Trento in Trento (1989-1995), GAM - Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Bologna in Bologna (1996-2000), MACRO - Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (2001-2008), GAM Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Turin (2009-2014). The Whitney Biennial is a biennial exhibition of contemporary American art, typically by young and lesser known artists, on display at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, United States.
