Panellinios V.C.
Panellinios V.C. is the men's volleyball section of Panellinios G.S., the Greek multi-sports sports club, club, that is based in Athens. It was one of the first volleyball clubs in Greece, and is also one of the most successful, since it has won six A1 Ethniki Volleyball, Greek Championships. Panellinios also has a women's team that has won two Greek Women's Volleyball League, Greek Women's Championships, and one Greek Women's Volleyball Cup, Greek Women's Cup. History Panellinios was one of the first volleyball clubs in Greece. The former sports trainer of Panellinios, Anastasios Lefkaditis, is considered to be the man who is mainly responsible for importing the sport of volleyball to Greece. Panellinios took part in the first unofficial Greek men's volleyball championship, along with Panionios V.C., Panionios and Ethnikos Athens. Panellinios Indoor Hall
Panellinios Indoor Hall, or Panellinios AC Indoor Hall, is a multi-purpose indoor arena, indoor sporting arena that is located in the district of Kypseli, Athens, Greece. The arena can host basketball, volleyball, and team handball, handball matches. The arena is small, with a permanent seating capacity 1,100, and a capacity of 1,800 spectators with temporary seating. The arena has modern locker room facilities for the home and visiting teams, for the Official (basketball), referees and the game judges, a complete press room, an anti-doping control room, club management offices, and a fully furnished press room for the media. A2 Ethniki Volleyball
A2 Ethniki Volleyball or Greek A2 Volleyball League is the third-tier of the Greek volleyball championship system in Greece. It used to be the second-tier until the founding of the Pre-league tier replacing A2 as the second tier making A2 the third one, since 2019. It was founded in 1988. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Panellinios G.S. (Greek: Πανελλήνιος Γ.Σ.), full name, Panellinios Gymnastikos Syllogos (Greek: Πανελλήνιος Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος), is a Greek multi-sport club that is located in Athens and was founded in 1891. It is one of the oldest and more successful multi-sports clubs in Greece and also one of the oldest sports clubs in Europe. The name Panellinios can be translated as ''Pan-Hellenic'' in English, and may be used as an adjective that embraces ''the Greek Nation''. Gymnastikos Syllogos can be translated as gymnastics club. Therefore, the club's full name can be translated and/or interpreted as ''Pan-Hellenic Gymnastics Club''. The A1 Ethniki ( el, Α1 Εθνική Κατηγορία), often referred to as the Greek Volleyball League, is the highest professional volleyball league in Greece. It is run by the Hellenic Volleyball Federation. It is considered one of the top national leagues in European volleyball, as its clubs have made significant success in European competitions. Greek Women's Volleyball League
The Greek Women's Volleyball League is organised by Hellenic Volleyball Federation (Greek:Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία Πετοσφαίρισης). In 2021–22 championship took part 14 clubs. Panathinaikos won the first championship in 1971. During the first decade, Panathinaikos women's volleyball, Panathinaikos and ZAON Kifissia dominated. Panathinaikos have won 24 championships so far, more than any other team. Panionios G.S.S. Football Club (Greek: ΠΑΕ Πανιώνιος Γ.Σ.Σ.), the ''Pan-Ionian Gymnastics Club of Smyrna'' (Πανιώνιος Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Σμύρνης, ''Panionios Gymnastikos Syllogos Smyrnis''), more commonly known as Panionios F.C. or simply Panionios, is a Greek amateur football club based in Nea Smyrni, Athens, Greece. Part of Panionios G.S.S. (founded in 1890 in Smyrna, Ottoman Empire), Panionios F.C. is the oldest Greek football club.
