Panangad is a suburb of Balussery in Kozhikode district. It is one among the 75 grama panchayats and coming under Balussery block. Administration Even though this is a backward panchayat its developmental activities are well known. It won the best panchayat trophy in 2001 and once secured the best panchayat within the district. Apart from these it received ''Nirmal puraskar'' for its cleanliness nature. Mrs. V.M.Kamalakshi is the prevailing president of the panchayat. Panchayat is having 20 wards now. Kannur International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Kannur, the Mahé district of Puducherry and the rest of northern Kerala in India. Balussery is a town located about 25 km northeast of Kozhikode city, situated on State Highway 34. It is one of the 12 block Panchayats in the Kozhikode district and serves as the northeastern entry point to Kozhikode city.
