Palo (OLAP Database)
Palo is a memory resident multidimensional (online analytical processing (OLAP) or multidimensional online analytical processing (MOLAP)) database server and typically used as a business intelligence tool for controlling and budgeting purposes with spreadsheet software acting as the user interface. Beyond the multidimensional data concept, Palo enables multiple users to share one centralised data storage (single version of the truth). This type of database is suitable to handle complex data models for business management and statistics. Apart from multidimensional queries, data can also be written back and consolidated in real-time. To give rapid access to all data, Palo stores them in the memory during run time. The server is available as open-source and proprietary software. Jedox was founded by Kristian Raue in 2002 and developed by Jedox AG, a company HQed in Freiburg, Germany. The firm currently employs approximately 300 people. Kristian Raue's departure from Jedox was anno ...

Palo (flamenco)
A ''palo'' () or cante is the name given in flamenco for the different traditional musical forms. The word ''palo'', in Spanish, has several meanings, the main one being "stick", "pole" "rod" or "Tree", but in this case it has the sense of " suit of cards" i.e. category or classification. Identifying palos Each ''palo'' is identified by a variety of musical features such as its rhythmic pattern, its mode, its characteristic motifs, the type of stanza used for the lyrics, and its origin. The concept of ''palo'' is not straightforward or rigorous. It is a popular, sometimes inconsistent way of classifying songs according to similar characteristics. For example, to determine that a song belongs to the ''palo'' called Bulerías, only the rhythm is taken into consideration, no matter its mode or stanza. Fandangos, on the other hand, include a variety of forms in or , but later it developed "free" forms (that is, with no determined rhythm). Most ''palos'' include dozens of tradit ...

Palo (religion)
Palo, also known as Las Reglas de Congo, is an African diasporic religion that developed in Cuba during the late 19th or early 20th century. It arose through a process of syncretism between the traditional Kongo religion of Central Africa, the Roman Catholic branch of Christianity, and Spiritism. Initiates in the religion are termed ''paleros'' (male) or ''paleras'' (female). An initiatory religion, Palo is organised through small autonomous groups called ''munanso congo'', each led by a figure known as a ''tata'' (father) or ''yayi'' (mother). Although teaching the existence of a creator deity, Nsambi or Sambia, Palo regards this entity as being uninvolved in human affairs and thus focuses its attention on the spirts of the dead, collectively known as ''Kalunga''. Central to Palo is the ''nganga'' or ''prenda'', a vessel usually made from an iron cauldron, clay pot, or gourd. Many ''nganga'' are regarded as material manifestations of particular deities known as ''mpungu''. The ''n ...

Tauno Palo
Tauno Valdemar Palo (born Tauno Brännäs; 25 October 1908 – 24 May 1982) was a Finnish actor and singer in what some consider the golden age of Finnish cinema. In ''Guide to the Cinema of Sweden and Finland'' Peter von Bagh names Palo as the most renowned, the best-loved, and quite indisputably the greatest and the best actor of Finnish cinema. His skill to combine lightweight and youthful charm with heavyweight acting was seen most clearly in the theatre. His most famous roles were perhaps in ''Kulkurin valssi'' ("The Vagabond's Waltz"), and ''Vaimoke'' ("Surrogate Wife"). He appeared with actress/singer Birgit Kronström in the 1941 romantic comedy "Onnellinen ministeri" ("The Lucky Cabinet Minister"), which included the famous song "Katupoikien laulu", remade by other Finnish pop singers including Katri Helena. Life and career Palo was born in Hämeenlinna as Tauno Brännäs, but changed his name to Tauno Palo in 1935. He was of partial Russian descent through his moth ...
