Pakistan Air Force Football Club, abbreviated as PAF FC, serves as the football section of Pakistan Air Force. The club used to compete in the National Football Championship and Pakistan Premier League. It regularly participates in the PFF National Challenge Cup. History Early years In the 1950s, Pakistan Airforce played the Inter-Services Football Championship at the domestic level in Pakistan. In August 1960, PAF won the fifth Ismail Gold Shield Football Tournament, which featured guest teams from India and Iran. In 1961, PAF played a friendly game against the Iranian club Shahin F.C., with PAF international forward Faqir Hussain scoring all 4 goals for his team in a match which ended in a 6–4 defeat. In 1963, the club finished runners-up in the Mohammad Ali Bogra Shield, losing 1–3 to Victoria SC in the final held in Rawalpindi. Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi ( or ; Urdu, ) is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan. 2018 National Challenge Cup
The 2018 PFF National Challenge Cup was the 27th edition of domestic cup competition in Pakistan. 24 teams participated in the competition, from 21 April to 10 May 2018. The Pakistan National Challenge Cup was held in Karachi after FIFA lifted it ban. The matches took place at the KPT Stadium and the All Brothers Football Stadium, Malir. The tournament took place after a gap of two years due to a power struggle within the Pakistan Football Federation. The Federation was being run by a court-appointed administrator, whose appointment was declared unlawful by a division bench of the High Court which ordered financial and administrative control to be handed over to the legitimate body headed by Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. FIFA also lifted the ban imposed on PFF after the legitimate body was restored by the court ruling. The Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA; ur, ) is a government-owned public utility maintaining power and water in Pakistan, although it does not manage thermal power. WAPDA includes Tarbela and Mangla dams among its resources. Its headquarters are in Lahore. Pakistan National Football Challenge Cup
The PFF National Challenge Cup is an annual semi-professional knockout football competition in men's domestic Pakistani football within the Pakistan football league system. It is organized by and named after the Pakistan Football Federation. Khan Research Laboratories have won the most titles (six). WAPDA are the current champions, winning the 2020 edition courtesy of a 1-0 win against SSGC F.C. in the final. 2014 National Football Challenge Cup
The 2014 National Football Challenge Cup was 24th season of domestic cup tournament in Pakistani football. It was sponsored by National Bank of Pakistan, and known as NBP National Football Challenge Cup. 12 teams participated in the tournament. National Bank were the defending champions, but were eliminated in quarter-finals by Karachi Port Trust. Pakistan Airforce won their first title after defeating KESC 2–1 in the finals. 2007–08 PFF League
The 2007–08 PFF League was the 4th season of PFF League, second tier of Pakistan Football Federation. The season started on 7 November 2007 concluded on 30 January 2008. Pak Electron were declared the champions, and gained promotion to the 2008–09 Pakistan Premier League along with the second-placed Pakistan Steel. Format Fifteen teams competed in the tournament. However, Sindh Government Press FC withdrew before the tournament started. In the group stage, teams were divided into two groups of seven teams each, playing each other in a round-robin format. Top three teams from each group progressed to the Super Six stage, where they had to play against each other in another round-robin league. Top two teams from the Super Six stage were promoted to the 2008–09 Pakistan Premier League, with the top team being declared as the PFF League champion. The Pakistan Football Federation League ( ur, پاکستان فٹ بال فیڈریشن لیگ ; abbreviated: PFFL), also known as the 'B' Division League, is a Pakistani semi-professional league for men's association football departments and clubs which are in the Pakistan football league system, and is the country's second-tier semi-professional football competition. Contested by 18 departments and clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the top-tier Pakistan Premier League. Each season, the two top-finishing teams from the PFFL's club phase and the departmental phase are automatically promoted to the Pakistan Premier League, and the winner of the final between club phase and departmental phase is crowned as the PFF League champion.
