Paki (slur)
Paki is a term typically directed towards people of Pakistani descent mainly in British slang, and as an offensive slur is often used indiscriminately towards people of perceived South Asian descent in general. The slur is used primarily in the United Kingdom, the Benelux and Canada, where the term is commonly associated with "Paki-bashing", which consists of violent attacks against people of perceived Pakistani and South Asian origin. Etymology "Paki" is derived from the exonym ''Pakistan''. The term ''Paki'' () means "pure" in Persian, Urdu and Pashto. There was no "Pak" or "Paki" ethnic group before the state was created. Abner Kuhoʻoheiheipahu Pākī (c. 1808–1855) was a Hawaiian high chief during the reign of King Kamehameha III, the father of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, founder of Kamehameha Schools. Early life and family According to Hawaiian tradition, he was born in the year ''Ualakaa'', which corresponded to around 1808, on the island of Molokaʻi. His father was High Chief Kalani-hele-maiiluna, whose father was Kamehamehanui Ailuau the King of Maui, and his mother was Kuhoʻoheiheipahu. Pākī was a close friend of King Kamehameha III. He served as Privy Councillor, Chamberlain to the King, Assistant Judge of the Supreme Court, and in the House of Nobles from its founding 1841 until 1855. The most prominent feature of his character was his firmness; when he took a stand he was immovable. Pākī was a noted surfer in his youth. Ithikkara Pakki
Ithikkara Pakki (or Ithikkara Pakky / Ethikkara Pakki / Ethikkara Pakky) was an Indian outlaw who lived in the Travancore Kingdom in the 19th century. He is said to have plundered from the rich and distributed to the poor. Pakki, whose real name was Muhammad Abdul Khader, hails from Ithikkara village. He is said to have moved as swiftly as a bird or butterfly, meaning ''Pakki'' in Malayalam, hence he was known by the name Ithikkara Pakki. Legends on him are part of the folklore of Kerala where he is represented as a heroic outlaw. Stories about him often include his friend and fellow bandit Kayamkulam Kochunni.
