Paisley Currah
Paisley Currah is political scientist and author, known for his work on the transgender rights movement. His book, ''Sex Is as Sex Does: Governing Transgender Identity'' (NYU Press, 2022) examines the politics of sex classification in the United States. He is a professor of political science and women's and gender studies at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He was born in Ontario, Canada, received a B.A. (Hons, First Class) from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario and an M.A and Ph.D. in Government from Cornell University. He lives in Brooklyn. He graduated from Edinburgh College of Speech and Drama, followed by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 1959. He initially worked as an actor and stage manager as part of a repertory in England. He emigrated to Australia in 1961, working as an actor, teacher, writer, and playwright. Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman (born November 2, 1970) is an American retired professional wrestling valet, dancer, beauty queen, and professional wrestler. Una Lillian Paisley (born 18 November 1922 in Kew in Melbourne in Victoria – died 1977 in Kew, Victoria) was an Australian cricket player.
