Paint Creek (Oakland County, Michigan)
Paint Creek is a U.S. Geological Survey. National Hydrography Dataset high-resolution flowline dataThe National Map accessed November 7, 2011 stream in the U.S. state of Michigan, located in northern Oakland County and rising in Brandon Township in the northern part of the county. The creek drains through a series of lakes that lead into Lake Orion. Paint Creek continues as the outflow from the east end of Lake Orion in downtown Lake Orion. It flows southeastward through Oakland Township and Rochester Hills into the Clinton River in Rochester. The damming of Paint Creek in the village of Lake Orion in 1839 resulted in the expansion of Lake Canadaigua. The newly created larger lake was renamed Lake Orion (or Orion Lake) after the village. It is one of two designated trout streams in Oakland County, the other being Trout Creek. The Charter Township of Oakland is a charter township on the north Oakland County outskirts of Metro Detroit, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is colloquially referred to as "Oakland Township". Paint Creek (Washtenaw County, Michigan)
Paint Creek is a stream mostly located within Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The stream flows south before entering as a tributary to Stony Creek along the county line with Monroe County. Paint Creek is also the name of an unincorporated community that dates back to 1829. It is located along the creek within Augusta Township. Community of Paint Creek A community named Paint Creek was settled by James Miller along the banks of the creek in southwest Washtenaw County as early as 1829. Lake Orion
Lake Orion ( ) is a village in the northern outskirts of Metro Detroit in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,973 at the 2010 census. "Lake Orion" can refer to either the village or the much larger Orion Township, of which the village is a part. Lake Orion began as a resort town and over time has incorporated elements of a bedroom community. History Judah Church and Moses (or Samuel) Munson were among the first settlers.
