Pidgeon Pagonis
Pidgeon Pagonis (born 1986) is an American intersex activist, writer, artist, and consultant. They are an advocate for intersex human rights and against nonconsensual intersex medical interventions. Early life and education Pagonis was born in 1986 in Chicago, Illinois, and has Mexican and Greek ancestry. As a child, Pagonis, a queer and non-binary person who uses ''they/them'' pronouns, was diagnosed with androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS). They were not told of this intersex variation, were assigned female at birth, told that they had ovarian cancer (when they in fact had internal testes and no ovaries), and subjected to a series of surgeries to alter their genitalia. They learned about intersex traits during their freshman year in college, while attending a lecture at DePaul University. Nenad Pagonis ( sr-cyr, Ненад Пагонис; born 28 July 1987) is a Serbian Cruiserweight (boxing), cruiserweight kickboxer fighting out of Mike's Gym in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Team Pagonis in Novi Sad, Serbia. In 2010 he became World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, W.A.K.O. Pro world champion (K-1 rules). He won a number of world and European titles at amateur level. Biography and career Pagonis is of Greeks, Greek paternal descent. In 2006, at the age of 19, he won a gold medal at the yearly Balkan Bames, and won gold at the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, W.A.K.O. Anastasia Pagonis ( el, Αναστασία Παγώνης; born May 2, 2004) is an American Paralympic swimmer. She represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. She is a world record and American record holder within the sport. Career Pagonis made her international debut at the 2020 WPS World Series event in Melbourne, Australia in February 2020, where she won gold in the 400 m freestyle and won bronze medal in the 200 m medley. She also finished in eighth in the 50 m freestyle and fourth in the 100 m freestyle. At the US Paralympic trials, Pagonis set the world 400 metre freestyle S11 record twice, once during the prelims, then again during the finals. These records were not yet ratified before the 2020 Summer Paralympics began. Lieutenant General William Gus Pagonis (born April 30, 1941) served as the director of American logistics during the Gulf War of 1991. Career Pagonis served in the United States Army for 29 years, retiring with the three-star rank of lieutenant general. Kostas Pagonis (born 11 September 1985 in Athens) is a Greek professional footballer, who last played for AEL 1964 FC in the Greek Football League. Club career Pagonis started playing as an amateur for Akratitos F.C. in 2003. After a year playing with the team's youth squad, he was promoted to the first team and became a professional.
