Page Belcher
Page Henry Belcher (April 21, 1899 – August 2, 1980) was an American Republican politician and a U.S. Representative from Oklahoma. Biography Belcher was born in Jefferson in northern Oklahoma to George Harvey Belcher and Jessie Ray. He was educated at public schools in Jefferson, and Medford, Oklahoma. Belcher attended Friends University, a private non-denominational Christian university in Wichita, Kansas. He served as a private in the Student Army Training Corps at the University of Oklahoma during World War I. While in college he studied law and played for the 1918 Oklahoma Sooners football team. Career After the war, Belcher worked as manager of his father's Oklahoma car dealership. He was admitted to the bar in 1936 and began a legal practice in Enid. Walter Page Cavanaugh (January 26, 1922 in Cherokee, Kansas – December 19, 2008 in Los Angeles) was an American jazz and pop pianist, vocalist, and arranger. Career He began on piano at age nine and played with Ernie Williamson's band in 1938–39 before moving to Los Angeles and joining the Bobby Sherwood band at age 20. While serving in the military during World War II, he met guitarist Al Viola and bassist Lloyd Pratt, with whom he formed a trio. A Republican, he has represented the Louisiana State Senate's 23rd district, based in southern Lafayette, since 2012. Most of his work has been in the hard rock and alternative metal styles, though he trained in jazz guitar and has substantial connections with avant-garde music and film soundtrack composition. Page Miller (born 12 December 1940) is an American public historian. Life and work Page Putnam Miller was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on 12 December 1940. She was awarded a B.A. degree by Mary Baldwin College in 1963 and then enrolled in the Yale Divinity School, but left before earning her master's degree. Miller earned her M.A. in history at the University of Maryland in 1974 and her Ph.D. five years later. Page Samuel McConnell (born May 17, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American multi-instrumentalist most noted for his work as the keyboardist and a songwriter for the band Phish. Page Smith (September 6, 1917 – August 28, 1995) was an American historian, professor and author. In 1964 became the founding Provost of Cowell College, University of California, Santa Cruz and resigned from the university in 1973 in protest. As an activist, he was a lifelong advocate for homeless people, for community organization, and for improving the prison system. He served in the United States Army during World War II, for which he received a Purple Heart. He was awarded his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1951 under the direction of Samuel Eliot Morison.
