Padri Jo Goth is a village in Sanghar District, Sindh, Pakistan. History The village consists of around 500 families living on land bought by the Catholic Church in 1938. Franciscan Father Dildar Micheal is the parish priest in 2023. The Faithful Companions of Jesus Sisters also run a dispensary out of their St. Alverna Convent. The St Isidore high school run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus provides education to the community up to the 10th grade. In 2023 some 450 disadvantaged children are receiving an education at the school funded by Catholic Missions. Local violence The marriage of a young tribal Hindu woman and a Christian man she chose angered her community in 2004. This led to friction between the two communities. It was a village before Mallah Tribe were settled there. This district has the largest Mallah tribe population. It has an area of 9874 square kilometres. The Faithful Companions of Jesus Sisters (FCJ Sisters, French: ''Fidèles compagnes de Jésus'') is a Christian religious institute of the Roman Catholic Church directly subject to the Pope. It was founded in Amiens in France in 1820 by Marie Madeleine de Bonnault d'Houët. Service The FCJ sisters can be found in the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe. In Australia The FCJ sisters first arrived in Australia in 1882 and soon founded a school in Richmond, an inner suburb in Melbourne. Vaucluse College FCJ was soon at capacity, so land was purchased in Kew. They built a new convent and boarding school which marked the establishment of Genazzano FCJ College. The Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Roman Catholic female religious congregation, founded in 1880 by Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini. Sebastian Francis Shaw (born 14 November 1957) is a Pakistani Roman Catholic archbishop. He was born in Padri Jo Goth, Sindh, Pakistan on 14 November 1957. He received his early education at Fatima High School and attended the Government Degree College. He received his religious training under the Order of Friars Minor and at the Christ the King seminary in Karachi and was ordained a priest in Lahore, Pakistan on 6 December 1991. Before joining the Franciscans he was a teacher. He was rector of the Juniorate and Postulancy of Dar ul Naim Seminary in Lahore from 1991 until 1995, taught at St. Mary's Minor Seminary, Lahore, and has also been Provincial of the Order of Friars Minor in Pakistan. The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Lahore is a Latin Metropolitan Archdiocese in Punjab province, Pakistan. Its episcopal seat is the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Lahore.
