Paddy McLaughlin (footballer, Born 1979)
Patrick McLaughlin (born 10 October 1979) is a Northern Irish football manager and former footballer who is currently manager of Cliftonville F.C., Cliftonville. Beginning his career at Derry City F.C., Derry City, he went on to play with Institute F.C., Institute, Finn Harps F.C., Finn Harps, and Coleraine F.C., Coleraine. At 'Stute he served as club captain, leading them to promotion to the NIFL Premiership, Premiership after winning the 2013-14 NIFL Championship. He retired from playing in 2015 to take on the role of assistant manager under newly-appointed Institute boss Kevin Deery. He spent two years as assistant manager before succeeding Deery as manager following his resignation. In his first season as manager he guided 'Stute back to the top flight of Northern Irish football by winning the 2017-18 NIFL Championship. Derry, officially Londonderry (), is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland and the fifth-largest city on the island of Ireland. 2013–14 NIFL Championship
The 2013–14 NIFL Championship (known as the Belfast Telegraph Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the sixth season since its establishment after a major overhaul of the league system in Northern Ireland. This was the first season that the league was operated by the Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL), which took over from the Irish Football Association (IFA) for the 2013–14 season onwards. The County Antrim & District Football Association Senior Shield (more commonly known as the County Antrim Shield) is a football competition in Northern Ireland. The competition is open to senior teams who are members of the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association) (membership of which extends geographically beyond County Antrim itself), often plus intermediate teams who qualify via the Steel & Sons Cup, depending on the numbers required.
