Pacific Coast Amateur
The Pacific Coast Amateur is an annual amateur golf tournament. It has been played since 1967 and is organized by the Pacific Coast Golf Association. It is held in various locations in the United States and Canada. In December 2021, the Pacific Coast Amateur joined with six other tournaments to form the Elite Amateur Golf Series. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Golf, unlike most ball games, cannot and does not use a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied terrains encountered on different courses is a key part of the game. Courses typically have either 18 or 9 ''holes'', regions of terrain that each contain a ''cup'', the hole that receives the ball. Each hole on a course contains a teeing ground to start from, and a putting green containing the cup. There are several standard forms of terrain between the tee and the green, such as the fairway, rough (tall grass), and various ''hazards'' such as water, rocks, or sand-filled ''bunkers''. Doug Ghim
Doug Ghim (born April 16, 1996) is an American professional golfer who grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois and graduated from Buffalo Grove High School. In May 2018, Ghim became the top-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Amateur career Ghim competed at the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup. Ghim was runner-up at the 2017 U.S. Amateur to earn invitations to the 2018 Masters Tournament and U.S. Open. He also won the 2017 Pacific Coast Amateur. From a team perspective, Ghim competed at the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup and 2017 Walker Cup. At the 2018 Masters, Ghim scored multiple eagles to earn an award of two pairs of crystal goblets. Michael Putnam
Michael John Putnam (born June 1, 1983) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Web.com Tour. Putnam was born in Tacoma, Washington. He played on the Nationwide Tour in 2006. He had two 2nd-place finishes on the Nationwide Tour in 2006 including losing in a playoff at the Rheem Classic. He finished 17th on the money list to earn his PGA Tour card for 2007. He finished 158th on the money list and dropped back to the Nationwide Tour in 2008. He played the Nationwide Tour through 2010 when he finished the year 24th on the money list and earned his 2011 PGA Tour card. Alexander Prugh (born September 1, 1984) is an American professional golfer who has played on the Web.com Tour and the PGA Tour. Early years Prugh was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He attended Joel E. Ferris High School, where he was a member of the golf team. He later went on to play at the University of Washington, where he was a three-time varsity Pac-10 All-Conference. Professional career Since turning professional in 2007, Prugh has spent most of his career playing on the second tier Nationwide Tour, where he has one victory, achieved at the 2009 Michael Hill New Zealand Open. Patrick Nagle (golfer)
Patrick Nagle (born September 21, 1987) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career On March 22, 2011, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed the undrafted free agent to a two-year entry-level contract. He played NCAA hockey at Ferris State University prior to turning professional. In his first professional season in 2011–12, with the Florida Everblades, Nagle shared primary goaltending duties with John Muse, playing 39 games. Chan Kim (born March 24, 1990) is an American professional golfer who currently competes on the Japan Golf Tour. Early life Kim was born in Suwon, South Korea, but grew up in Hawaii. Andrew David Putnam (born January 25, 1989) is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Early years Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Putnam graduated high school in 2007 from Life Christian Academy. His older brother Michael has also played on the PGA Tour.
