Pablo De Olavide (Seville Metro)
Pablo de Olavide is a station of the Seville Metro on line 1 named after the nearby Universidad Pablo de Olavide. This station will also be a tram stop for the Alcalá de Guadaíra tram line that is under construction and projected to be completed in 2019. It is located at the outskirts of the city within the University Campus, close to ''Utrera road''. ''Pablo de Olavide'' is an elevated building, situated between ''Guadaíra'' and ''Condequinto'' stations on the same line. It was opened on April 2, 2009. Tranvía Metropolitano De Alcalá De Guadaíra
The Tranvía Metropolitano de Alcalá de Guadaíra ( en, Metropolitan Tram of Alcalá de Guadaíra) is a light rail line currently under construction in the Spanish town of Alcalá de Guadaíra. Background Construction on the line began in 2007, but was suspended in 2012 due to the 2008–2014 Spanish financial crisis. Works resumed in 2015, with the line expected to open in 2023. Route The line's western terminus is at the existing Pablo de Olavide station of the Seville Metro, using part of a former railway alignment eastward to serve the town centre of Alcalá de Guadaíra with a total of twelve stops. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Alcalá De Guadaíra
Alcalá de Guadaíra () is a town located approximately 17 km southeast of Seville, Spain; in recent years the expansion of Seville has meant that Alcalá has become a suburb of that city. Alcalá used to be known as ''Alcalá de los Panaderos'' (Alcalá of the Bakers) because it provided most of Seville's bread. The town is located on the banks of the Guadaíra River, and watermills built during the Moorish period of Spain can still be found in the area.
