Pablo Salinas Herrera (born 3 June 1994) is a Chilean chess player. He was awarded the Grandmaster title by FIDE in 2019. Career Salinas has won the Chilean Chess Championship five times; in 2011, 2012, 2019, 2021 and 2022. Pyotr Veniaminovich Svidler (russian: Пётр Вениами́нович Сви́длер; born 17 June 1976), commonly known as Peter Svidler, is a Russian chess grandmaster and an eight-time Russian Chess Champion who now frequently commentates on chess. Svidler has competed in three World Championship tournaments: in the period with split title the FIDE World Chess Championship 2002 and 2005, and after reunification the World Chess Championship 2007. Seyyed Mohammad Amin Tabatabaei (born 5 February 2001) is an Iranian chess grandmaster (2018). Chess career Born in 2001, Tabatabaei earned his international master (IM) title in 2015 and was awarded his grandmaster (GM) title by FIDE in April 2018. In February 2018, he participated in the Aeroflot Open. He finished seventeenth out of ninety-two, scoring 5½/9 (+5–3=1), earning an additional GM norm in the process. Denis Kadrić (born 12 June 1995) is a German-born chess player representing Montenegro and formerly representing Bosnia and Herzegovina. He holds the FIDE title of Grandmaster. Mads Andersen (born 1 March 1995) is a Danish chess grandmaster. He is a three-time Danish Chess Champion. Grandmaster (chess)
Grandmaster (GM) is a title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally it has been revoked for cheating. The title of Grandmaster, along with the lesser FIDE titles of International Master (IM) and FIDE Master (FM), is open to all players regardless of gender. The great majority of grandmasters are men, but 40 women have been awarded the GM title as of 2022, out of a total of about 2000 grandmasters. Since about the year 2000, most of the top 10 women have held the GM title. There is also a Woman Grandmaster title with lower requirements awarded only to women. The Chess World Cup 2021 was a 206-player single-elimination chess tournament that took place in Sochi, Russia, beginning 12 July and ending 6 August 2021. It was the 9th edition of the Chess World Cup. The winner of this tournament was the Polish GM Jan-Krzysztof Duda, who won without losing any games either in classical chess or in the rapid tiebreakers. The two finalists (Duda and Sergey Karjakin) qualified for the Candidates Tournament 2022. The rest of the final eight, except Magnus Carlsen, qualified for the FIDE Grand Prix 2022.
