Pablo Ramirez (skateboarder)
Pablo Ramirez (February 10, 1993 – April 23, 2019) was a regular-footed American skateboarder, artist, and musician from New York City, who lived and skated in San Francisco. Life Ramirez was raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn where he lived primarily with his mother, a chef and business owner of Jewish American descent. His father, who is of Dominican descent, worked as a lawyer. Pablo went to elementary, middle, and high school in Brooklyn, NY, where he developed a love for the arts, sports, and music. As a child he enjoyed spending time with friends, camping, and playing the drums. His father was very involved in his upbringing from spending time after school to do homework, teaching him to play chess, and spending weekends playing on ice hockey teams. His father took Pablo on many trips, especially to the Dominican Republic to visit family. Supreme is an American clothing and skateboarding lifestyle brand established in New York City in April 1994. The brand aims to appeal to youth culture in general as well as the skateboarding and hip hop scenes specifically. The company makes skateboards in addition to clothing and accessories. The red box logo with "Supreme" in white Futura Heavy Oblique is thought to be largely based on Barbara Kruger's art. The Supreme brand is popular in China, Japan, Europe and the US. Haroshi
Haroshi (born 1978, Tokyo) is a Japanese artist. Haroshi's sculptural works are primarily constructed out of recycled skate decks. Creative practice In addition to sculpture, Haroshi is a collector, painter, architect, and industrial designer. Haroshi's art studio in located in the outskirts of Tokyo. Haroshi sources the skateboards he uses in his sculptures from his skater friends and skate shops he is friendly with. He had the idea to use skateboards as a sculptural materials one day when he was staring at a stack of used skateboard decks in his room. Sean Greene (born July 16, 1987) is a regular-footed American professional skateboarder. Early life Greene was born and raised in Irving, Texas. After watching Evel Knievel videos as a child, Greene aspired to be a stuntman. Skateboarding career Greene moved to San Francisco after being encouraged by his friend Ceno. Greene is known for his gutsy approach to the steep streets of San Francisco. As a rider for GX1000, Greene and his cohorts are recognized for their fearless and often creative approach to riding down San Francisco's steepest hills. Kevin Long (skateboarder)
Kevin 'Spanky' Long (born August 6, 1984) is an American professional skateboarder. Long's skateboarding stance is goofy. Early life Long was born in Oak Park, California, United States (U.S.). Long grew up skateboarding in California's Agoura Hills, which is just north of the Valley area and the nickname "Spanky" was created by a friend of Long's older brother. Long was a homeschool student but advised against it in a 2003 interview: "Basically I’d say homeschool is a bad idea for anybody—it’s just one step closer to dropping out. Ed Templeton (born July 28, 1972) is an American professional skateboarder, contemporary artist, and photographer. He is the founder of the skateboard company, Toy Machine, a company that he continues to own and manage. He is based in Huntington Beach, California. Barry McGee (born 1966) is an American contemporary artist. He is a well known graffiti artist, and a pioneer of the Mission School art movement. McGee is known by his monikers: Twist, Ray Fong, Bernon Vernon, and P.Kin. Life and education Barry McGee was born in 1966 in San Francisco, California. He is of Chinese and Irish descent. Alicia McCarthy is an American painter. She is a member of San Francisco's Mission School art movement. Her work is considered to have Naïve or Folk character, and often uses unconventional media like housepaint, graphite, or other found materials. She is currently based in Oakland, California. John Joseph Cardiel (born December 14, 1973) is a former professional skateboarder and snowboarder who has been a core member of the AntiHero Skateboards company since it was founded in 1995.
