PWHL Montreal
PWHL Montreal is a professional women's ice hockey team based in Montreal, Quebec. They are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). They play home games at the Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, Laval and the Verdun Auditorium in Verdun, Quebec, Verdun. History Founding and inaugural season On August 29, 2023, it was announced that one of the PWHL's first six franchises would be located in Montréal. On September 1, Daniele Sauvageau, the one-time coach for Canada women's national ice hockey team, Canada's national team, was announced as the team's general manager. Kori Cheverie, a former assistant coach with the Canadian national team and the first woman to have coached a Canadian men's hockey team, was named the team's inaugural coach on September 13. Boston are a professional ice hockey team based in Lowell, Massachusetts. They are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). History It was revealed on August 29, 2023, that one of the PWHL's first six franchises would be located in Boston. Danielle Marmer, a former scout and player development assistant for the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins, was named the team's inaugural general manager. On September 15, Boston University women's team associate head coach Courtney Kessel was announced as the team's first head coach. The team's first three signings during the league's initial free agency period were United States national team players Hilary Knight, Aerin Frankel, and Megan Keller, all signed to three-year deals. Ann-Sophie Bettez
Ann-Sophie Bettez (born October 14, 1987) is a Canadian ice hockey forward currently signed with the Montreal Force of the Premier Hockey Federation. Playing career CIS She was CIS rookie of the year in 2008 and voted league MVP in her second year. She won the 2009 QSSF scoring crown with 24 goals and 30 assists for 54 points in just 18 conference games. These numbers set league records in each category. She was seven points back of Alberta Pandas player Tarin Podloski (23–38–61) for the CIS national scoring title. In 2008, Bettez was one of three Martlets in three years to be named as the top rookie in Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's ice hockey championship. This marked the first time in CIS history that players from the same school in a team sport were honoured as the nation's best freshman for three consecutive years. The ''Ottawa Sun'' is a daily newspaper in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is published by Sun Media. It began publication in 1983 as the ''Ottawa Sunday Herald'', until it was acquired by (then) Toronto Sun Publishing Corporation in 1988. In April 2015, Sun Media papers were acquired by Postmedia.
