Pakistan Naval Station Siddique, known as PNS Siddique ( ur, ) formerly known as Naval Air Station, Turbat, is a naval air station and a military airport located in Turbat city of Makran, Balochistan. It is one of four active Naval Air Arm bases (others are PNS Mehran, PNS Makran, Naval Air Station Ormara) and currently the second largest naval air station after PNS Mehran. History Turbat, a small town with a population of less than 200,000, boasts an international airport (IATA code: TUK) offering flights to Muscat, Sharjah, Karachi, Gwadar, and Dalbandian. Situated approximately 90 km NNW of Pasni and 117 km NE of Gwadar, Turbat enjoys road connections to Panjgur, Kalat, Pasni, and Karachi, but lacks rail infrastructure. Pakistan Naval Station Makran, known as PNS Makran ( ur, ) formerly known as Coastal Naval Air Station, Pasni, is a Naval air station and a military airport located in Port city, Coastal city of Pasni of Balochistan. PNS Mehran Attack
The PNS Mehran attack was an attack/shooting by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al Qaeda which took place on 22 May 2011, at PNS Mehran, the headquarters of the Pakistan Navy's Naval Air Arm and the most populous Pakistani military installation, located near the PAF's Faisal Air Force Base of Karachi, Sindh. In the course of the event, 15 attackers killed 18 military personnel and wounded 16 in a sophisticated terrorist attack which lasted 16 hours. Two American-built P-3C Orion surveillance aircraft were destroyed. According to the United States and Western intelligence sources, the attack was far more dangerous than the 2009 Pakistan Army General Headquarters attack, and was better planned and more rehearsed than the previous attack. The Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 was a military confrontation between India and Pakistan that occurred during the Bangladesh Liberation War in East Pakistan from 3 December 1971 until the Pakistani capitulation in Dhaka on 16 December 1971. Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila (Urdu: محمد ﺁصف سندیلہ; born: 1954, ), is a retired four-star admiral in the Pakistan Navy who was the 14th Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy. Prior to this command appointment, Sandila briefly tenured as the Vice Chief Naval Staff in the Pakistan Navy which he assumed in 2010. Panjgur ( bal, پنجگور, ur, ) is a district in the west Balochistan province of Pakistan. Panjgur was one of three districts of Makran District until 1 July 1977, when the district became a part of Makran Division. The other two districts of Makran Division are Kech (Turbat) and Gwadar. Chitkan is the district headquarter. Panjgur has sixteen (16) Union Councils. Panjgur (literally: Five Graves) is home to several archaeological sites, including centuries-old tombs, an old dam called Band-e-Gillar, remnants of a fort at Khudabadan (the historical fort of Nawab Kharan) and some remnants of the old port of Issai. Pasni ( ur, ), is a city and a fishing port in Gwadar District, Balochistan, Pakistan. It is located on the Makran coast on Arabian Sea about from Karachi. Administratively, Pasni is the headquarters of Pasni Tehsil, the sub-division of Gwadar District. Astola Island lies ESE of Pasni, in the Arabian Sea. The city of Pasni is itself administratively subdivided into two Union Councils. Topography The topography of the area is marked by low jagged hills of the Makran Coastal Range, while flat land is more common towards the coast. Dalbandin (Urdu and bal, ) is a city and the headquarter of District Chagai in the province of Balochistan near the Iran and Afghanistan border. It has a population of 16,319, and the remainder of the entire Dalbandin Tehsil has a population of 110,503. It is located at an altitude of 843 m (2769 ft). The PNS Ahsan ( ur, ) is a Military base, naval base located in Makran, Balochistan Province.
