Osterfjorden
Osterfjorden is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The fjord is one of three fjords surrounding the island of Osterøy (island), Osterøy. The fjord runs along the municipal border of Alver (municipality), Alver and Osterøy municipalities. The fjord begins at the Romarheimsfjorden and flows to the west for before ending near the village of Knarvik at the confluence of four fjords: Osterfjorden, Radfjorden (to the north), Sørfjorden (Osterøy), Sørfjorden (to the south), and Salhusfjorden (to the west). The Osterfjorden is generally about wide and the deepest point in the fjord reaches a depth of below sea level. The following villages lie along the Osterfjorden: Knarvik, Hamre, Osterøy, Hamre, Leknes, Hordaland, Leknes, Eikanger, Hosanger (village), Hosanger, Fotlandsvåg, Ostereidet, and Tysso. Sørfjorden (Osterøy)
Sørfjorden is a long fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The fjord flows around the west and south sides of the island of Osterøy (island), Osterøy, going through the municipalities of Osterøy, Bergen, and Vaksdal. The fjord begins at the village of Vaksdal (village), Vaksdal where the Veafjorden flows into the Sørfjorden, it then heads west and then north before emptying into the Osterfjorden. The fjord flows past the following villages: Bruvik, Hordaland, Bruvik, Vaksdal (village), Vaksdal, Hausvik, Garnes, Hordaland, Garnes, Ytre Arna, Hylkje, Breistein, Valestrandfossen, Steinstø and Hamre, Osterøy, Hamre. Prior to the opening of Osterøy Bridge in 1997 there were two ferries crossing the fjord: Haus–Garnes and Valestrandfossen–Breistein, the first one was closed when the bridge opened and the second one is still in operation. Salhusfjorden
Salhusfjorden is a long fjord and sound between Bergen Municipality and Alver Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. To the west, it starts between the villages of Salhus and Frekhaug, where the Byfjorden meets the Herdlefjorden. To the east, the fjord ends between the village of Knarvik and the Hordvikneset peninsula, where the Osterfjorden runs northeast, the Sørfjorden runs southeast, and the Radfjorden runs north. The fjord is up to deep. It acts as one of the borders between the districts of Midhordland to the south and Nordhordland to the north. The islands of Holsnøy and Flatøy lie along the northern side of the fjord. Salhusfjorden is crossed by the Nordhordland Bridge, a combined pontoon and cable stayed bridge. Hosanger
Hosanger is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality was located in what is now parts of Alver Municipality and Osterøy Municipality in Vestland county. It originally covered all the lands on both sides of the Osterfjorden- Romarheimsfjorden from the Lonevågen fjord all the way east to the county border at the end of the Modalen valley. Hosanger also included an exclave on the Lindås peninsula surrounding the village of Seim at the southern end of the Lurefjorden. Seim was separated from the rest of Hosanger by part of Lindås Municipality. Over time, the areas of Seim and Modalen were split off from Hosanger. Osterøy
Osterøy is an island municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordhordland. The municipality encompasses most of the island of Osterøy. The administrative centre of Osterøy is the village of Lonevåg in the central part of the island. The largest settlement is the village of Valestrandfossen with 1,219 inhabitants as of 1 January 2016. Osterøy municipality and Vaksdal Municipality are both located on the island of Osterøy. Osterøy municipality covers most of the island with the mostly uninhabited northeastern part of the island belonging to Vaksdal municipality. Osterøy (island)
Osterøy is an island situated northeast of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. With a total area of , it is the largest Norwegian island not located directly adjacent to the ocean, and the second largest such island in Northern Europe. Osterøy is covered by two municipalities: the majority () by Osterøy municipality, and the rest () by Vaksdal municipality. Knarvik (or Knarrviki) is the administrative centre of the municipality of Alver (municipality), Alver in Vestland county, Norway. Radfjorden
Radfjorden is a fjord in Alver Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The long fjord runs between the islands of Radøy and Holsnøy. The northwestern end of the fjord is called the ''Mangerfjorden'' and it flows out into the Hjeltefjorden. The southeastern end of the fjord is also known as Kvernafjord, and it flows out into the confluence of three other fjords: Salhusfjorden, Osterfjorden, and Sørfjorden.
