Ostereidet Church
Ostereidet Church ( no, Ostereidet kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Alver Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ostereidet. It is one of two churches for the Osterfjorden parish which is part of the Nordhordland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The red, brick church was built in a long church design in 1988 using plans drawn up by the architect Bengt Suleng who worked for the Einar Vaardal-Lunde architectural firm. The church seats about 350 people. The church was consecrated on 18 December 1988. Askeland is a village in Alver municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located about north of the village of Ostereidet. It sits on a small peninsula along the Hindnesfjorden, a branch off the main Austfjorden. Austfjorden (Hordaland)
Austfjorden is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The long fjord runs along the border between Alver Municipality and Masfjorden Municipality. It starts in Alver and extends to the northwest. The Masfjorden joins the Austfjorden from the north, and then the Austfjorden empties into the Fensfjorden before reaching the open sea near Fedje. The Austfjorden is the innermost arm of the Fensfjorden. The village of Knarrviki and the Mongstad industrial area lie on the western shore of the Austfjorden. The village of Myking lies on the western shore of the fjord, near the innermost part of the fjord. On the north side of the Austfjorden there are several deep bays. The first of these is the long ''Mjangersvågen'' with the small village of Mjanger the head of the bay. Osterfjorden is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The fjord is one of three fjords surrounding the island of Osterøy (island), Osterøy. The fjord runs along the municipal border of Alver (municipality), Alver and Osterøy municipalities. The fjord begins at the Romarheimsfjorden and flows to the west for before ending near the village of Knarvik at the confluence of four fjords: Osterfjorden, Radfjorden (to the north), Sørfjorden (Osterøy), Sørfjorden (to the south), and Salhusfjorden (to the west). The Osterfjorden is generally about wide and the deepest point in the fjord reaches a depth of below sea level. European route E39 is the designation of a north–south road in Norway and Denmark from Klett, just south of Trondheim, to Aalborg via Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. In total, there are nine ferries, more than any other single road in Europe. In Trondheim, there are connections to E6 and E14.
