Oregon Route 528
Oregon Route 528 (OR 528) is an Oregon state highway running from OR 126 Business to OR 126. The entire route is within the city of Springfield. OR 528 is also known as the Springfield Highway No. 228 (see Oregon highways and routes). It is just long and runs north–south. OR 528 was established on November 13, 2002 as part of Oregon's project to assign route numbers to highways that previously were not assigned. It is currently the shortest signed route in the State of Oregon. Route description OR 528 begins as a one-way pair in downtown Springfield on Pioneer Parkway East (northbound direction) and Pioneer Parkway West (southbound). Springfield, Oregon
Springfield is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Located in the Southern Willamette Valley, it is within the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Separated from Eugene to the west, mainly by Interstate 5, Springfield is the second-most populous city in the metropolitan area after Eugene. As of the 2010 census, the city has a total population of 59,403. The Briggs family first settled the Springfield area, arriving in 1848. The community was incorporated as a city in 1885. The city was named after a natural spring located in a field or prairie within the current city boundaries. Oregon OR 126 (OR 126) is a state highway that connects coastal, western, and central parts of the U.S. state of Oregon. A short freeway section of OR 126 in Eugene and Springfield is concurrent with Interstate 105 (I-105). Route description Florence to Eugene The western terminus of OR 126 is in Florence at a junction with US 101, the main north–south route along the Oregon Coast. The junction is located north of downtown Florence near the municipal airport and the mouth of the Siuslaw River, which empties into the nearby Pacific Ocean. Emerald Express (EmX)
The Emerald Express (EmX) is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in the Eugene-Springfield metropolitan area in Oregon, United States. It is provided by the Lane Transit District (LTD) which is the public transit authority in Lane County, Oregon. LTD chose bus rapid transit after a review process in which several transportation options, including light rail, were considered. It was decided that the BRT option was the best fit for Eugene-Springfield's size and current transportation needs. The first route, named the Green Line, was opened in early 2007, connecting downtown Springfield to downtown Eugene. There are ten stops along the route, including the University of Oregon.
