Open Dei Tessali
The Open di Puglia e Basilicata is an annual professional golf tournament held in Riva dei Tessali, near Castellaneta, Italy. First held in 1983, there was a brief hiatus before the second edition in 1986. The tournament became part of the second tier Challenge Tour schedule in 1991, where it remained until 2007. Castellaneta
Castellaneta (Tarantino: ) is a city and ''comune'' in the province of Taranto in the Apulia region of Southern Italy, about from Taranto. Located in a territory spanning from the Murgia to the Ionian Sea, characterized by numerous ''gravina'' (ravines), it is part of the Comunità Montana della Murgia Tarantina (Tarentine Murgia Mountain Community). History Human settlements were present in the area since the Bronze Age (3rd–2nd millennium BC), and it was later probably settled by Sicels, Messapii and Iapyges. According to a theory, a fortified city (Castania in Latin) was founded in 550 and grew in size when the population of neighbouring cities fled there from Saracen attacks. Oliver Wilson
Oliver John Wilson (born 14 September 1980) is an English professional golfer. Wilson was a member of the 2008 Ryder Cup, but had to wait another six years for his first European Tour win, the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Amateur career Wilson was born in Mansfield, England, where his golfing career began at Coxmoor Golf Club, having been a junior at Oakmere Park Golf Club. He played collegiately at Augusta State University. Professional career Wilson turned professional in 2003 and played on the Challenge Tour in 2004. He finished 15th on the Order of Merit list and moved up to the European Tour. Leif Westerberg
Leif Westerberg (born 28 August 1974) is a Swedish professional golfer. Westerberg was born in Stockholm and turned professional in 1997. He has played predominantly on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour where he has won two tournaments. Johan Edfors
Johan Edfors (born 10 October 1975) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays primarily on the European Tour. Early life and amateur career Edfors was born in Varberg. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio on a Division I athletic scholarship for men's golf. He played for the team under the coaching of Barry Denton for two years. Professional career Edfors turned professional in 1997. He spent several years playing the second tier Challenge Tour, but failed to make the top hundred on the Order of Merit until 2003, when he won twice and topped the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. He narrowly failed to hold on to his tour card in 2004, but at the end of 2005 he regained it at the Final Qualifying School. Rafael Faustino Gómez (born 27 December 1967) is an Argentine professional golfer. Career Gómez was born in Buenos Aires. He turned professional in 1990. He played on the European Challenge Tour in 2003 and from 2005 to 2007 and the European Tour from 2005 to 2007. He played on the U.S.-based Nationwide Tour in 2004 and a few events on the PGA Tour. His best finish on the PGA Tour was 38th place in The International in 2002. His best finish on the European Tour was 22nd place in the KLM Open in 2006. Kyron Sullivan
Kyron Sullivan (born 22 June 1976) is a Welsh professional golfer. Sullivan attended the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff and briefly worked as an IT analyst before deciding to attempt professional golf in 2002. He spent two years playing on the PGA EuroPro Tour and a further three on the Challenge Tour, where he won for the first time in 2006. This helped him to fifth place in the rankings, earning him a place on the European Tour for 2007. Sullivan ended his debut year 131st in the Order of Merit, just outside the players who automatically retained their cards, but he still gained entry to several events in 2008. Since 2009, he has returned to the Challenge Tour full-time. In 2008, Sullivan also won the South Wales Open. Anthony Snobeck
Anthony Snobeck (born 20 April 1983) is a French professional golfer, who has played on both the European and Challenge Tours. Biography Snobeck was born in Paris; his father Dany was a successful racing driver who won the French Supertouring Championship three times and the Andros Trophy twice, and the family lived adjacent to Magny-Cours, where he owned a car company. Snobeck began playing golf in 1995, and by the age of seventeen was a three-handicap. He began being coached by Antoine Lebouc, former European Tour player and husband of Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, in 2002, and under his guidance turned professional in 2005.
