''One of Us Is the Killer'' is the fifth studio album by American mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan, released on May 14, 2013. ''One of Us Is the Killer'' is the band's second release under their Party Smasher, Inc. imprint. The CD was released as a standard version that can be picked up at most record stores, and a limited version with a scratch-off cover that can only be bought at Best Buy containing two bonus tracks. Background, lyrics and music Vocalist Greg Puciato indicated that he chose the album title "pretty much as soon as I finished writing hesong" of the same name. He explained that the meaning behind the title involves "a lot of issues on the album relate to co-dependency and unknowingly destroying a relationship and taking responsibility for that and not pointing outward. The Dillinger Escape Plan
The Dillinger Escape Plan was an American metalcore band. The band was formed in 1997 in Morris Plains, New Jersey by guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Adam Doll, vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, and drummer Chris Pennie. The band's use of odd time signatures, polyrhythms and unconventional drum patterns became a staple of their sound, although later albums incorporated more melody, and influences from a range of genres. The band's lineup shifted numerous times throughout its existence; by the time the group dissolved, Weinman was the only remaining founding member. The last surviving lineup also included longtime members Liam Wilson on bass, Greg Puciato as lead vocalist, and Billy Rymer on the drum kit, alongside then-newcomer Kevin Antreassian as rhythm guitarist. Brian Benoit
Brian Benoit is a former guitarist for The Dillinger Escape Plan.Harkness, Geoff"Quintet overcomes tragedy" ''Lawrence Journal-World'', September 7, 2000, p. Mag-2. Retrieved on May 30, 2013. Before playing in Dillinger, Brian played in Jesuit with eventual Converge bassist Nate Newton. Brian joined Dillinger Escape Plan prior to recording '' Calculating Infinity'' and performed on the EP ''Irony Is a Dead Scene'' and LP '' Miss Machine''. In late 2004, just after the release of '' Miss Machine'', Brian developed nerve damage in his left hand, which forced him to leave the band in 2005. He was replaced on tour by James Love and Jeff Tuttle, though Ben Weinman was the only guitar player on subsequent releases. Frontman Greg Puciato said that Brian still had a place in the band should he be able to return; he eventually did return for two of Dillinger's final three shows on December 27th and 28th, 2017. Black Flag is an American punk rock band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California. Initially called Panic, the band was established by Greg Ginn, the guitarist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes in the band. Swing Kids (band)
Swing Kids were a post-hardcore band from San Diego, California, during the mid-1990s. They were closely involved with and influenced by the forerunners of the San Diego hardcore punk scene of the 1990s. History Swing Kids formed in the mid 1990s, inspired by jazz and swing era ethics. The band was short lived, documenting their entire existence in a handful of songs over a couple of years. Swing Kids released a self-titled 7" EP which features four original tracks as well as a harsh version of Joy Division’s "Warsaw". From that EP, the song "Blue Note" was listed by Vulture.com as number 83 of the 100 greatest emo songs. Soon after the band released their EP they followed up with a split 10" EP with Spanakorzo, which shared band member John Brady.
