''Olympia 06'' is the name of the only live album recorded by the French singer Grégory Lemarchal. It was recorded during the only series of concerts given by the artist at the Olympia of Paris in 2006 in order to support his debut album ''Je deviens moi'', and was released on October 23, 2006. It contains a cover version of Lucie Silvas' song " What You're Made of", recorded in live version as a duet with her, and another version with Nolwenn Leroy. The album met success in France and in Belgium (Wallonia Wallonia (; french: Wallonie ), or ; nl, Wallonië ; wa, Waloneye or officially the Walloon Region (french: link=no, Région wallonne),; nl, link=no, Waals gewest; wa, link=no, Redjon walone is one of the three regions of Belgium—alo ...), particularly the DVD which was charted again just after the singer's death, topping the French Videos Chart on the chart edition of May 5, 2007. Grégory Lemarchal
Grégory Jean-Paul Lemarchal (13 May 1983 – 30 April 2007), known professionally as Grégory Lemarchal, was a French singer who rose to fame by winning the fourth series of the reality television show ''Star Academy'', which was broadcast on the TF1. He died at the age of 23 of health complications (cystic fibrosis) while waiting in hospital for a lung transplant. A posthumous album, '' La Voix d'un ange'', was released with profits going towards the Association Grégory Lemarchal charity. A compilation, ''Rêves'', was released in 2009. He has sold more than 2 million albums. Grégory Lemarchal remains an emblematic figure in France, often associated in the research and fight against cystic fibrosis. "Écris l'histoire" is the debut and most successful single from French singer Grégory Lemarchal. It was released in March 2005 in francophone countries as first single from his album ''Je deviens moi'', where it had a great success, particularly in France and Belgium (Wallonia). Background The lyrics were written and the music composed by Francesco de Benedittis and Paul Manners. This song is actually a cover version of that of Italian singer Davide Esposito, "Io so che tu", but with other lyrics in French. Esposito's version, available on the CD single in an original and an unplugged versions, was charted from September 2006, peaking at number 71 in Switzerland and number 20 in France (it reentered the French chart at number 93 after Lemarchal's death, in May 2007). Lucie Silvas (born Lucie Joanne Silverman, 4 September 1977) is a British singer-songwriter. Early life Born in Kingston upon Thames, England, her father is from New Zealand and is of Jewish descent; and her mother is Scottish and is Christian. Silvas has two sisters, Mia (who has performed backing vocals for her), and Nikki.
