Ojamajo Doremi
, alternatively titled ''Magical DoReMi'' in English, is a Japanese magical girl anime television series created by Toei Animation. It focuses on a group of elementary school girls, led by Doremi Harukaze, who become witch apprentices. The series aired in Japan on TV Asahi between February 1999 and January 2003, spanning four seasons and 201 episodes, and was followed by an original video animation series released between June and December 2004. An English-language version of the first season, produced by 4Kids Entertainment, aired in North America in 2005. ''Ojamajo Doremi'' has inspired two companion films, manga adaptations, video games, and a light novel sequel series. Magical Girl
is a subgenre of Japanese fantasy media (including anime, manga, light novels, and live-action media) centered around young girls who possess magical abilities, which they typically use through an ideal alter ego into which they can transform. is a 2020 Japanese drama and coming-of-age animated film produced by Toei Animation for the 20th anniversary of the magical girl anime series ''Ojamajo Doremi'' (known internationally as ''Magical Doremi''), which aired from 1999 to 2005. The film is directed by Haruka Kamatani and Junichi Sato. The events of the film are set in modern-day Japan and star Aoi Morikawa, Rena Matsui, and Momoiro Clover Z member Kanako Momota in the roles of three women of different backgrounds who grew up watching ''Ojamajo Doremi''. Ojamajo Doremi (season 1)
''Ojamajo Doremi'' was originally broadcast on TV Asahi from February 7, 1999 to January 30, 2000, with a total of 51 episodes. The show was directed by Junichi Sato and Takuya Igarashi, while the animation was produced by Toei Animation. It replaced the time slot of '' Yume no Crayon Oukoku'' when that show ended. After ''Ojamajo Doremi'' ended, it was followed up by a direct sequel, ''Ojamajo Doremi Sharp''. The opening theme song for ''Ojamajo Doremi'' was by MAHO-Do, which won the 1999 Kobe AM Award.
