Ogwyn Davies
Ogwyn Davies (1925 – 26 December 2015) was a Welsh artist, born in Trebanos in the Swansea Valley. He studied at the Swansea School of Art, before living and working in Tregaron, Ceredigion. He taught art at Ysgol Uwchradd Tregaron from 1955 to 1985, while also maintaining and developing his independent career as an artist. Trebanos
Trebanos ( cy, Trebannws) is a village in the Swansea Valley, Wales. With Craig Trebanos and a part of Pontardawe, it forms the Trebanos (electoral ward), Trebanos electoral ward in the Neath Port Talbot county borough. Controversy and opposition concerning the South Wales Gas Pipeline passing through the village led to media attention for the village and a protest camp in 2006 and 2007. Name The village's name in standard Welsh language, Welsh is 'Trebannws'. But in the Welsh-language dialect of the area, there is a tendency to pronounce the final vowel as an 'o'. This has given rise to the form 'Trebanos', which is the form usually used in English. Swansea Valley
The Swansea Valley ( cy, Cwm Tawe) is one of the South Wales Valleys. It is the valley from the Brecon Beacons National Park to the sea at Swansea of the River Tawe in Wales. Tregaron ( "town of St Caron") is an ancient market town in Ceredigion, Wales, astride the River Brenig, a tributary of the River Teifi. Tregaron is northeast of Lampeter.
