Ochsenzoll (Hamburg U-Bahn Station)
Ochsenzoll is a station on the Hamburg U-Bahn line U1. Until 1969, it was the north western terminus of the line. It was opened in July 1921 and is located in Hamburg, Germany, in the quarter of Langenhorn. Langenhorn is part of the borough of Hamburg-Nord. History The station was opened in July 1921, after the Langenhorn railway was in preliminary operation with steam trains since 5 January 1918. At that time there was a preliminary passenger platform at the freight yard, which was located north of the U-Bahn station. After 1921 one U-Bahn train per hour left Ochsenzoll to Ohlsdorf station, two during rush hours. On 5 May 1953 the Alster Northern Railway (Alsternordbahn, ANB), the first new railway line in the Federal Republic of Germany, opened from Ochsenzoll in northern direction to Ulzburg Süd station. Alster Northern Railway
The Alster Northern Railway (german: Alsternordbahn) or ANB was a non-electrified, single-tracked branch line in northern Germany. It linked the stations of Ochsenzoll in Hamburg-Langenhorn with Ulzburg Süd in the district of Segeberg in Schleswig-Holstein. The northern part of the route to Norderstedt Mitte is used today by AKN Railway on behalf to VGN Norderstedt (HVV Line A 2) and is mostly double-tracked. Since 1996 the southern section is part of the Hamburg U-Bahn network ( Line U 1) on behalf to VGN. It is doubled throughout and electrified at 750 V DC via a third rail. Garstedt is a underground station on the Hamburg U-Bahn line U 1. It was opened in June 1969 and is located in Norderstedt, Germany, in the borough of Garstedt, which was an independent municipality to the end of 1969. History Construction works for the station began in 1967, and it was opened in June 1969, after U-Bahn tracks of the Langenhorn railway had been extended to Garstedt. This was done in accordance with an agreement between the city of Hamburg and the former Garstedt municipality. Ulzburg Süd Station
Ulzburg Süd station is a hub on the AKN Eisenbahn network in the municipality of Henstedt-Ulzburg in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is where AKN’s trunk line (the Hamburg-Altona–Neumünster railway) and the Alster Northern Railway, which are now traversed by AKN lines A1 and A2, meet. Ohlsdorf is a railway station in Hamburg, Germany, located at the junction of the Hamburg-Altona link line with the Alster Valley line and the Hamburg Airport line in Ohlsdorf, Hamburg near the Ohlsdorf Cemetery. History On 6 December 1906, the ''Hamburg-Altonaer Stadt- und Vorortbahn'' (City and suburban railway) — later abbreviated Hamburg S-Bahn — opened the double track Ohlsdorf–Blankenese line. Planned as an electric railway with overhead lines, the trains were first steam powered, because of difficulties concerning the construction of the electrical installations and a delay delivering the engines.
