''Ocean Machine: Biomech'' is the second studio album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend, originally released as ''Biomech'' under the name Ocean Machine. The album was released in July 1997 via Townsend's label, HevyDevy Records. Background Material for ''Ocean Machine: Biomech'' had been around since the time Devin Townsend was touring with Steve Vai in support of ''Sex & Religion'', with some tracks, such as "Funeral", "Regulator" and "The Death of Music", stretching back to Townsend's days with Noisescapes. Devin Townsend
Devin Garrett Townsend (born May 5, 1972) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He founded extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad and was its primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist from 1994 to 2007. He has also had an extensive solo career and has released a total of 28 albums across all of his projects as of 2022. After performing in a number of heavy metal bands in high school, Townsend was discovered in 1993 by a record label who asked him to perform lead vocals on Steve Vai's album ''Sex & Religion''. After recording and touring with Vai, he was discouraged by what he found in the music industry and vented his anger on his 1995 solo album ''Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing'', which he released under the pseudonym Strapping Young Lad. Voyeurs (album)
''Voyeurs'' is the only album by Two, a musical collaboration between vocalist Rob Halford (of Judas Priest) and guitarist John 5 (of Red Square Black, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie). Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor receives executive-producer credit, with the actual production duties being handled by Bob Marlette and Skinny Puppy's Dave Ogilvie. ''Voyeurs'' features Halford's distinctive vocals in an industrial metal context similar to other work by John 5, Reznor and Ogilvie's. The so-called "pre-Reznor Mixes" of ''Voyeurs'' were made available as a free download at Rob Halford's official website in 2002. The ''Lagrime di San Pietro'' (Italian: ''Saint Peter's Tears'') is a cycle of 20 madrigals and a concluding motet by the late Renaissance composer Orlande de Lassus (Roland de Lassus). Written in 1594 for seven voices, it is structured as three sequences of seven compositions. The ''Lagrime'' was to be Lassus’ last composition: he dedicated it to Pope Clement VIII on May 24, 1594, three weeks before his death, and it was published in Munich the next year. Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson (6 August 1809 – 6 October 1892) was an English poet. He was the Poet Laureate during much of Queen Victoria's reign. In 1829, Tennyson was awarded the Chancellor's Gold Medal at Cambridge for one of his first pieces, "Timbuktu". He published his first solo collection of poems, ''Poems, Chiefly Lyrical'', in 1830. Strapping Young Lad
Strapping Young Lad was a Canadian extreme metal band formed by Devin Townsend in Vancouver in 1994. The band started as a one-man studio project; Townsend played most of the instruments on the 1995 debut album, ''Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing''. By 1997, he had recruited permanent members; this line-up, which consisted of Townsend on vocals and guitar, Jed Simon on guitar, Byron Stroud on bass, and Gene Hoglan on drums, lasted until the band's dissolution.
