Oytun Ersan
Oytun Ersan (born June 22, 1978) is a Turkish Cypriot bass guitarist and composer. He has worked and collaborated with a range of acclaimed artists including Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Simon Phillips, Gary Husband, Mitchel Forman, Mike Miller, Brett Garsed, Dean Brown, Okan Ersan, Karen Briggs, Cliff Almond, Wycliffe Gordon, Ola Onabule, Louie Palmer and Bob Franceschini. In May 2015, he released his album ''East Meets West''. His second album ''Fusiolicious'' was released on 4 April 2018 featuring Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Gary Husband, Gerry Etkins, Dean Brown, Mike Miller, Brett Garsed, Karen Briggs. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Ric Fierabracci. Nicosia
Nicosia ( ; el, Λευκωσία, Lefkosía ; tr, Lefkoşa ; hy, Նիկոսիա, romanized: ''Nikosia''; Cypriot Arabic: Nikusiya) is the largest city, capital, and seat of government of Cyprus. Louie Palmer
Louie Palmer (born 22 November 1985) is an English drummer and session musician. Biography Palmer began playing the drums aged five, learning drumming from his father. He played drums in school jazz orchestras, and received an endorsement from Zildjian aged 17. He performed at various drum clinic events with former Style Council drummer Steve White. In 2004, Palmer moved to Boston to study drumming at the Berklee College of Music. After returning to the UK, he played with former Sting sideman Jason Rebello, Gary Husband and Laurence Cottle. Palmer has also studied with Thomas Lang, Dave Weckl, Peter Erskine and Virgil Donati. He returned to the US in 2013 to play with US Jazz guitarist Mike Stern. In 2014 he recorded with saxophonist Nelson Rangell with Mitchel Forman, Randy Brecker and Bob James. Near East University (NEU; tr, Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi, commonly referred to as YDÜ) is a private university located in North Cyprus. It was founded in North Nicosia in 1988, by Suat Günsel, a Turkish Cypriot who is the 100% owner of NEU. The chairman of the board of trustees is his son, Irfan Günsel. Nicosia Municipal Orchestra
Nicosia Municipal Orchestra ( tr, Lefkoşa Belediye Orkestrası) is an orchestra based in North Nicosia operated by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality. As of 2014, it was the largest orchestra in Northern Cyprus. It was established in 1987, under the administration of the mayor Mustafa Akıncı. The project stagnated for some years due to financial difficulties, but its official establishment was realized in 1991. During Şemi Bora's term as mayor, the orchestra developed to incorporate a large number of musicians, educate new musicians in Nicosia, give concerts in parks, squares and public squares and organize the Light Music Composition Contest, which it annually organizes to this date. Fodera is an American manufacturer of electric bass guitars in Brooklyn, New York. Vinny Fodera and Joey Lauricella launched the company around 1983 after dissolving their working relationship with Ken Smith Basses. The company also manufactures a limited number of electric guitars each year; Fodera's first official instrument was a guitar. Company Fodera instruments are made with an inlaid butterfly on the headstock of most basses. Other features include an atypical single-cutaway design, an ash neck and exposed dual-coil Pickup (music technology), pickups with wood covers. The Baked Potato
The Baked Potato is a prominent jazz club on Cahuenga Boulevard in Studio City, Los Angeles, California, opened by Don Randi (father of bassist Leah Randi) in 1970. Randi formed his own group, Don Randi and Quest, as the house band. Over the years it has hosted many live recordings from jazz fusion artists. Larry Carlton recorded ''Last Nite'' there in 1986. In 2010 The Baked Potato was named the Best Jazz Club in Los Angeles by ''Los Angeles'' magazine. They have cited it as a "mainstay for session players since 1975". Aalener Jazzfest
Aalener Jazzfest is one of the top five jazz festivals in Germany. It is held annually on the second weekend in November in Aalen and has about 13,000 visitors annually. Individual concerts in the spring and summer, add to the musical offerings; there are a total of approximately 25 concerts per year.
