Joseph Oxley
Joseph Oxley (ca 1779 – March 18, 1868) was a farmer and political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Cumberland County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1826 to 1836. He was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, the son of George Oxley and Mary Bowden, who came to Nova Scotia from Yorkshire, England. He married Elizabeth Stocks Black. Oxley was named a justice of the peace in 1836. He died at the age of 90 in Pugwash, Nova Scotia. His brother George Oxley, George also served in the provincial assembly. References

Jeremy Saxon Oxley (born 15 November 1961) is an Australian songwriter, singer and guitarist. He is best known for his work with the 1980s pop-rock band Sunnyboys. Jennifer Oxley is an American author, illustrator, television writer/director, and songwriter. She is the co-creator of the PBS children's program ''Peg + Cat''. She was the creative director of ''Wonder Pets!'' and '' 3rd & Bird'', as well as the animator for the theme song and transitions on '' Oobi''. James Macdonald Oxley (October 22, 1855 – September 9, 1907) was a Canadian writer of juvenile fiction. Oxley was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the son of the merchant James Black Oxley and Ellen Macdonald. He was educated at Halifax Grammar School and Dalhousie University where he graduated with a B.A. in 1874, earning honors in mental and moral philosophy. Henry Havelock Oxley (January 4, 1858 – October 9, 1945) was an athlete who played Major League Baseball in 1884 for the New York Gothams (now known as the San Francisco Giants) and the New York Metropolitans.
