Owen Thomas is the "Global Head of Editorial Content" for ING Group. Previously, he was a news presenter on BBC World News and BBC World Service and an anchor on CNN International and Bloomberg Television. Journalism career Thomas worked for many years at ITN, presenting the now defunct ITV News Channel, the networked '' ITV Morning News'' and the regional ITV programme ''London Tonight''. He spent a year presenting the news on the BBC World Service, and anchored their '' World Briefing'' programme. Previously he worked for the English language service of Radio France Internationale based in Paris, France. Before it closed down in December 2005, he was a presenter on the ITV News Channel. Owen Thomas (born March 30, 1972) is an American blogger, journalist, and entrepreneur. He is the business editor at The ''San Francisco Chronicle''. He was the founding executive editor of The Daily Dot and former executive editor of VentureBeat. He was the managing editor of Valleywag, a Gawker Media gossip and news blog about Silicon Valley personalities that bills itself as a "tech gossip rag". Career Thomas graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Chicago. Owen Thomas (politician)
Sir Owen Thomas, JP, DL (18 December 1858 – 6 March 1923) was a Welsh politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Anglesey. Born on Anglesey, Thomas raised the Prince of Wales Light Horse regiment to serve in the Second Boer War. He commanded the regiment, and later became the Brigadier-General commanding the North Wales Brigade. He also served as chief officer of the Life-Saving Apparatus at Sea section of the Board of Trade, and in his spare time bred farm stock. Thomas took an interest in politics, and stood unsuccessfully for the Liberal Party in Oswestry at the 1895 United Kingdom general election. At the 1918 United Kingdom general election, he was elected for Anglesey as an independent labour candidate. Owen Thomas (playwright)
Owen Thomas (born 1976) is a playwright, originally from Mid Wales who is now living and working in Cardiff. His work has been performed in venues around the country. 'Richard Parker', toured the UK in Autumn 2009 and 2010. Starring Gareth John Bale and Alistair Sill, the play is a dark comedy exploring the notion of coincidence. The play was performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2011 where it received favourable reviews. The play then ran at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles. The show went on to win 'Best International Show' and was listed amongst the top ten theatrical shows in Los Angeles for 2012. Thomas followed up 'Richard Parker' with a sequel entitled 'Robert Golding' which explores the notion of conspiracy theories. Owen John Thomas (born 3 October 1939) is a former Plaid Cymru politician who was a Member of the Welsh Assembly (AM) for the South Wales Central region from 1999 to 2007. Early life and education Owen John Thomas was born in Albany Road, Cardiff, where his father, John Owen Thomas, had a pharmacy. John Owen Thomas was from Treorchy and the brother of the Alderman Reverend Degwel Thomas, the Chairman of Glamorgan Council for 19 years. The Elms (band)
The Elms were an American rock and roll band known for their breed of rootsy, blues-based rock, with the essence of the music of the 60s and 70s. Although the band had been in existence since 2000, 2001 saw the release of their first full-length album, with the first musical contribution from Thomas Daugherty on guitar.
