The student regent is a position on the University of California Board of Regents created by a 1974 California ballot proposition to represent University of California (UC) students on the university system's governing board. Student regents serve an approximately one-year term as 'student regent-designate', followed by a one-year term as a full voting member of the Regents. Gil Oved (born 16 August 1975) is a South African entrepreneur who is the co-founder and co-CEO of The Creative Counsel, South Africa's largest advertising agency. He is a member of the global Young Presidents' Organization where he is the Johannesburg chapter chair as well as the Africa regional forum officer. He is one of the Dragons on the hugely popular television reality show Dragons' Den South Africa which premiered in the last quarter of 2014 on DSTV. Margalit Oved
Margalit Oved (born 1934) is an American-Israeli dancer and choreographer, who was born in the Aden Protectorate. After being airlifted to Israel in 1949 in Operation Magic Carpet, she became involved with the Inbal Dance Theater for the following 15 years. She then moved the United States, where she taught at University of California, Los Angeles. Oved later returned to the Inbal Dance Theatre, and also worked with her son's Barak Marshall Theaterdance. She also founded her own group, the Margalit Dance Theatre Company in Los Angeles. Early life Margalit Oved was born around 1934 in the Aden Protectorate, as the seventh of nine children. Her father was a pearl merchant, and her mother was a midwife. Although she is Jewish, Oved's mother chose to send her to the local Christian school as it provided the best education in the local area. Reuven Oved ( he, ראובן עובד; born 28 November 1983) is an Israeli former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He started his career at Maccabi Tel Aviv but after a few problems with the club he moved to Hapoel Haifa and after one unsuccessful season with Haifa he moved to Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv there he spent two of his most successful seasons in his whole career. Oved Ben-Ami
Oved Ben-Ami (July 23, 1905 – October 17, 1988; Hebrew: עובד בן עמי) was an Israeli politician and businessman. He was one of the founders of the cities of Netanya and Ashdod and was a longtime mayor of Netanya. He was also among the key founders of the Israeli diamond industry and the ''Maariv'' newspaper''.'' Early life Oved Ben-Ami, originally Oved Dankner, was born in Petah Tikva, in what was then Ottoman-ruled Palestine, in 1905 to Meir and Shoshana Dankner. He had eight siblings. His father was a farmer and artisan originally from Romania who was among the first inhabitants of Petah Tikva. His mother was an activist in the Bilu movement. Ben-Ami grew up in Petah Tikva where he received a religious education in a Talmud Torah in addition to a secular education. He was active in various Zionist youth organizations.
