Obed Hall (December 23, 1757 – April 1, 1828) was an American politician and a United States representative from New Hampshire. Early life Born in Raynham in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, Hall later moved to Madbury and then to Bartlett, Carroll County, New Hampshire and engaged in agricultural pursuits. Career Since travel at that time was hazardous, Hall became an innkeeper at his farm, which was considered benefactor to the traveling public rather than businessman. Mr Hall was one of two appointed as Surveyor of Highways petitioned the General Court in 1793 for a tax of one penney per acre to be used for the improvement of roads within the town. Everette Ferguson BEM (21 February 1952 – 28 June 2018), better known as Elisha Obed was a Bahamian light middleweight boxer. He is the only professional world boxing champion in history to come from the Bahamas. Boxing career Amateur career Obed entered the amateur ranks at age 12. Obed Gomez Vargas (born August 5, 2005) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club Seattle Sounders FC. Obed Benjamin Sullivan (born January 17, 1968) is an American former professional boxer. Nicknamed "The Fighting Marine", Sullivan was at times a highly ranked heavyweight who fought many significant fighters of his era. Sullivan turned pro in 1992 and accumulated a 28-1-1 record with an International Boxing Federation intercontinental belt and wins over the likes of Garing Lane, Levi Billups, James Gaines, and Marion Wilson, setting up a bout with fellow rising prospect Hasim Rahman in 1997 on HBO. Obed Mutanya (born 10 August 1981 in Chingola) is a Zambian long-distance and cross country runner. He was a two-time All-American in outdoor track for the University of Arizona and competed in cross-country and indoor track for the Wildcats as well. Obed Gómez a.k.a. "The Puerto Rican Picasso" (born 1966) is a Puerto Rican artist of modern art. Early years Gómez was born and raised in Santurce, a section of in San Juan, the capital city of Puerto Rico. His grandmother was the first to believe that someday he would become an artist when she saw him drawing at the age of three. He received his primary education in a public school, however when he was eleven he took private art classes.
