Ove Christiansen
Ove Christiansen (born November 13, 1969, in Holstebro, Denmark) is professor of chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University (AU), Denmark. He is contributor to the DALTON program package and initiated the MidasCpp (Molecular Interactions Dynamics and Simulations in C++) prografor the accurate description of nuclear dynamics with means of Coupled Cluster Theory. Research Ove Christiansen made important contributions to electronic structure theory by introducing the CC2 and CC3 method and by establishing a hierarchy of Coupled cluster electronic structure models: CCS, CC2, CCSD, CC3, etc.. He introduced contributions to response theory for the purpose of describing electronic excited states. Jürgen Gauß
Jürgen Gauß (Juergen Gauss) is a German theoretical chemist. Gauß was born on 13 August 1960 in Konstanz. He studied chemistry at the University of Cologne from 1979 till 1984. After finishing his PhD thesis on abinitio calculations at the University of Cologne in 1988, he did postdoctoral studies at the University of Washington in Seattle and at the University of Florida in Gainesville about quantum theory. He did his habilitation in 1994 at the University of Karlsruhe on abinitio calculations of NMR-shifts. In 1995, he became professor at the University of Mainz. The European Young Investigator (EURYI) Awards scheme was a prestigious research award designed to attract outstanding young scientists in all research fields to the European research landscape. It was set up by the European Heads of Research Councils (EuroHORCs) and the European Science Foundation together as a grant scheme for researchers from any country in the world to create their own research teams at research institutions in any country in Europe participating in the scheme.
