Our Love To Admire
''Our Love to Admire'' is the third studio album by American rock band Interpol, released on July 10, 2007, through Capitol Records and Parlophone. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village and The Magic Shop in New York City, the album is the group's first to be released on a major label as they departed from Matador Records beforehand. On April 25, 2007, the band officially announced the album title as ''Our Love to Admire'' as well as the track listing. The first single off the new album, "The Heinrich Maneuver", was released on May 7, 2007. ''Our Love to Admire'' was largely well-received; however, the album's elaborate musical arrangement polarized some critics, since it was such a departure from the relatively simple sound the band had been known for on previous albums. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog. Schreiber started Pitchfork while working at a record store in suburban Minneapolis, and the website earned a reputation for its extensive coverage of indie rock music. Daniel Alexander Kessler (born 25 September 1974) is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the New York City-based band Interpol. He was raised in the United States, unlike his brother, former ''Q'' magazine editior Ted Kessler. Biography Interpol Kessler was born in London, England. It was his desire to play in a band which made him approach Carlos Dengler, with whom he attended a history class in New York University. Kessler knew lead singer Paul Banks from a summer program in Paris, France, and asked him to join the band when he ran into him in New York. Kessler's dormmate Greg Drudy was Interpol's first drummer. When Drudy left the band, Kessler asked his friend Sam Fogarino to replace him. ''Amnesiac'' is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead, released on 30 May 2001 by EMI subsidiaries Parlophone and Capitol Records. It was recorded with the producer Nigel Godrich in the same sessions as Radiohead's previous album ''Kid A'' (2000); Radiohead split the work in two as they felt it was too dense for a double album. Sparklehorse was an American indie rock band from Richmond, Virginia, led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Linkous. Sparklehorse was active from 1995 until Linkous' 2010 death. Prior to forming Sparklehorse, Linkous fronted local bands Johnson Family and Salt Chunk Mary. Only one song, "Someday I Will Treat You Good," survived from these earlier bands to be played by Sparklehorse. Linkous stated that he ultimately chose Sparklehorse for a name because the two words sounded good together and it could loosely be used as a metaphor for a motorcycle. ''You Could Have It So Much Better'' is the second studio album by Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand. It was first released on 28 September 2005 in Japan, and later on 3 October in the UK, through the Domino Recording Company. Recorded in both New York City and their own studio in Glasgow with producer Rich Costey, the album spawned four UK top 30 singles: "Do You Want To", " The Fallen", " Walk Away" and "Eleanor Put Your Boots On."
