''Our Last Spring'' ( el, Ερόικα, translit. Eroica) is a 1960 Greek drama film directed by Michael Cacoyannis and based on the 1938 novel "Eroica" by Greek writer Kosmas Politis. It was entered into the 10th Berlin International Film Festival. Michael Cacoyannis
Michael Cacoyannis ( el, Μιχάλης Κακογιάννης, ''Michalis Kakogiannis''; 11 June 1922 – 25 July 2011), sometimes credited as Michael Yannis, was a Greek Cypriot theatre and film director, writer, producer, and actor. Much of his work was rooted in classical texts, especially those of the Greek tragedian Euripides. His most acclaimed work is the 1964 film ''Zorba the Greek,'' an adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis' novel of the same name. He also directed the 1983 Broadway revival of the musical based on the film. In addition to directing, he also wrote, produced, translated, and designed dozens of stage play and opera productions. He was nominated for an Academy Award five times, a record for any Cypriot film artist. Michalis Nikolakos or Mihalis Nikolakkos (Greek: Μιχάλης Νικολινάκος, 1923 – 1994) was a Greek theatrical and cinematic actor. He was born in 1923 in Alyka, Laconia, in the southeastern Peloponnese. In his childhood years, he moved to Piraeus. After 1946, he studied both at the art school and the drama school of the Athens Odeum, where he had a student, the great Dimitris Rontiris.
