Otto Gentil
Otto Gentil was born on 7 August 1892 at Aschaffenburg, Bayern, (Germany) where he died in 1969. He was a German sculptor and painter. Otto Gentil was the son of the manufacturer of pumps and art collector Anton Gentil of Aschaffenburg. From 1926 till 1939 he was a teacher at the Aschaffenburg School of Arts. Otto married Johanna Gretel Niedermeier, daughter of Karl Niedermeier and Johanna Ney, on 8 March 1931 at Landau, Pfalz Pfalz, Pfälzer, or Pfälzisch are German words referring to Palatinate. Aschaffenburg (; South Franconian: ''Aschebersch'') is a town in northwest Bavaria, Germany. The town of Aschaffenburg is not part of the district of Aschaffenburg, but is its administrative seat. Aschaffenburg belonged to the Archbishopric of Mainz for more than 800 years. The town is located at the westernmost border of Lower Franconia and separated from the central and eastern part of the ''Regierungsbezirk'' (administrative region) by the Spessart hills, whereas it opens towards the Rhine-Main plain in the west and north-west.
