Otoyol 31
Otoyol 31, named the İzmir-Aydın Motorway ( tr, İzmir-Aydın Otoyolu) or just the Aydın Motorway and abbreviated as the O-31 is a long toll motorway in western Turkey. Beginning at an intersection with İzmir Beltway, the O-31 runs south from İzmir to Aydın and parallels the D550 for most of its route. Plans to extend the O-31 further to Denizli and Burdur have been finalized and the tender is expected to be awarded on 18 September 2018. Route Description İzmir The O-31 begins at ''Işıkkent interchange'', a trumpet interchange with the İzmir Beltway (O-30) in southeast Buca, İzmir, outside the urban city zone. From there, the route heads south through the recently closed Işıkkent Toll Plaza until reaching the Lesser Menderes Plain. The motorway crosses over the D.550, which is accessible via Exit K1. Buca (, ) is a district of İzmir Province, Turkey. It is one of the main urban districts of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Menemen is a district of İzmir Province in Turkey and its central town. The district extends on a fertile plain formed by the alluvial soil carried by the Gediz River. 75th Anniversary Selatin Tunnel ( tr, 75. Yıl Selatin Tüneli), is a road tunnel constructed on the motorway / at the province border of Izmir and Aydın, western Turkey. It is situated northwest of Aydın and southeast of Izmir, between the junctions Belevi and Germencik. With its length of , it was the country's longest tunnel when opened on 20 April 2000. Starting on 1 April 1990, its construction was carried out by the joint venture Kutlutaş and Dillingham in New Austrian Tunnelling method (NATM). The cost of the tunnel totalled to US$121 million.
