Otonella Mocellin
Ottonella Mocellin (born 1966 in Milan) is an Italian photographer and video artist based in Milan. Mocellin works with text, sound installation, performance and site specific projects. Her work is based on issues of identity and human relationships. In 1984 she moved to London, where she attended the Chelsea School of Art. She was a founding member of the ARC Group along with Shahin Afrassiabi, Emma Holmes, Gideon London, Lennie Lee, David Miles, Nicola Pellegrini, João Quintino, Nicola Reece, Andrew Stockwell and Emanuelle Waeckerle. In 1993 she moved back to Milan with Pellegrini. Shahin Afrassiabi
Shahin Afrassiabi (born 1963, in Tehran) is an artist and author who has been based in London, Berlin and Spain. His early work can be characterised as mixed media installations, using everyday building materials and domestic objects in juxtaposition, including use of shop window displays as a motif. It has been suggested his work is influenced by architectural practice and early 20th century design, including Russian Constructivism. More recent works have included oil paintings and drawings. Education Afrassiabi studied for an MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, graduating in 1997. He set up The Trade Apartment with architect Raymond Brinkman in 1998, and held his first solo show, 'You're a Heavenly Thing' in 2000. Gideon London
Gideon "Gid" London (1961–2010) was a British artist. Early years London was born on 18 March 1961 in Hampstead, London. He studied fine art at Stourbridge College. Career He was a successful film maker and collage artist, in addition to being an ex-member of the ARC group, a London-based collective of international artists, influenced by Kurt Schwitters, who specialised in building site-specific installation art. From 1987 to 1991, he worked together with the ARC group until it was finally disbanded in November 1991 in Budapest. In 1990, he was included in a show together with the other members of the group at the Galleria Milano in Italy. In 1995, he took part in a joint project with the artists' collective FA+, founded by the Swedish artists Gustavo Aguerre and Ingrid Falk. Lennie Lee (born 4 March 1958) is a South African conceptual artist who lives and works in London. Life and career Lennie Lee is a British artist born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He moved to the UK in 1960. He was educated at Dulwich college in London before winning a scholarship to study philosophy at Christ Church, Oxford. In 1983, he took up painting. Soon after, he moved to East London where he became interested in the urban dereliction left over from the Second World War. In 1984 he occupied several disused buildings and, together with a number of artists including South African painter, Beezy Bailey, he began to make site-specific installations using found material. Nicola Pellegrini
Nicola Pellegrini (born Milan, Italy, 1962) is an artist, curator, and architect; a conceptual artist working with photography, installation and video. Pellegrini is a former member of the London-based art collective ARC group. In 1988 he and other ARC members lived and worked in a large art house in the Highgate area, known as Chumley Dene. Later he took part in building large-scale installations in London, Milan, Genoa and Budapest until the group fell apart in the autumn of 1991. In 2001 he curated a show for the Oreste room in the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
