Osvaldo Mércuri
Osvaldo Mércuri (1944/1945 – 6 February 2021) was an Argentine politician, based in Buenos Aires Province, and member of the Justicialist Party. He was a longtime member of the Buenos Aires Province Chamber of Deputies from 1985 to 2005. This included two tenures as the President of the Buenos Aires Province Chamber of Deputies: 7 December 1989, to 8 December 1997, and again from 7 December 2001, until 10 December 2005. Mércuri also chaired the national 1994 Constitutional Reform Convention and the Justicialist Party conference. Biography Mércuri was born in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. At the time of his death, Mércuri was serving as a member of the Mercosur Parliament (Parlasur). His term in Parlasaur was scheduled to expire on 31 December 2021. Buenos Aires Province Chamber Of Deputies
The Chamber of Deputies of Buenos Aires Province ( es, Cámara de Diputados de la Provincia de Buenos Aires) is the lower house of the Legislature of Buenos Aires Province, the largest and most populous of Argentina's provinces. It is made up of 92 deputies elected in eight multi-member constituencies known as Electoral Sections. The number of deputies that correspond to each of the electoral sections is proportional to their population, as observed in the results of every nationwide census conducted in Argentina every 10 years. Seats may only be added to adjust the proportionality of each section, but never reduced. As in the National Chamber of Deputies and most other provincial legislatures, elections to the Chamber are held every two years, so that half of its members are up in each election, making it a rare example of staggered elections used in a lower house. Eduardo Alberto Duhalde (; born 5 October 1941) is an Argentine Peronist politician who served as the interim President of Argentina from January 2002 to May 2003. He also served as Vice President and Governor of Buenos Aires in the 1990s. Born in Lomas de Zamora, he was elected for the local legislature and appointed ''intendente'' (mayor) in 1973. He was deposed during the 1976 Argentine coup d'état, and elected again when democracy was restored in 1983. He was elected vice-president of Argentina in 1989, under President Carlos Menem. Duhalde resigned as vice president and was elected Governor of Buenos Aires Province in 1991, and re-elected in 1995. He ran for president in 1999, being defeated by Fernando de la Rúa.
